I remember the first on only time till today I saw this clip! In 1988, I and my family were living in Mexico. We were on a road trip to the nice region and city of Guanajuato ! In the fine hotel nicely located on the top of the hill and overlooking the city heart, the HBO TV channel was playing the "Love at the Greek" full concert and they terminated the show with this new clip "This Time". I felt in love immediatey with this wonderful song. One of the best love songs to my mind. I never forgot it as well as the white Jaguar XK 140 that Neil is driving in this clip.

I love the story of the video. It's more romantic than the song even. The man says goodbye to his lady, for whatever reason, and then regrets it so much that he drives all the way to her destination, seemingly trying to beat the train, so he can be standing there when she turns around. (This story would have made a great tv movie back in the day.) I like how Mr. Diamond's obvious discomfort in front of the camera adds to the sort of "Gee whiz. Please come back" factor.

I first heard this song while expecting my first daughter and I not only thought it incredibly touching, but somehow knew it would have a special significance to me. My daughter was born, Valentine's Day 1989, and I heard the song in hospital. 2 days later, her fatal heart problems began to show. She lived through a 5 hour surgery and died the next evening - a total of 8 days. I bought the record, and "I close my eyes and I keep re-living it - over again". This song remains a touching reminder.

My dad once possessed the VHS as well. I remember that he and I used to watch it together when I was a small kid before he and my mom got divorced when I was 5 years old. I own the DVD version now. Over time I loved this song and tried to memorize every lyric. A few times I tried mention it, every person acted like that no one had heard of it. I love this one and a few others like "I am...I said," "America," just to name a couple of examples.
