That actually raises an interesting question: If the person dies, you can find the one who is responsible and then put them in prison. However, if you save the person, then the crime will not have been committed and therefore the criminal will not go to prison for murder but only for attempted murder. So it is the question of what is more important. To save one persons life and let the criminal off with a lesser charge, or to accept one persons death and punish the criminal more harshly?
