Bass an catfish will hit live warmouth cats will hit cut bait from warmouth they have to eat whatever is in there area. and they're not that perticular but they do perfure some baits over others I do a lot catfishing and in most streams ponds or lakes catfish are more active at night but can be caught in the day for instance the lower James River quite a bit and from the in the daytime during the spring but not much luck during the daytime when it gets hot we caught tons of fish almost every trip that weigh 40 lbs plus I've caught a 51 pounder and a 71 pounder all on cut bluegill an wormouth an redbreast I've never seen much of a difference on them preparing one bluegill species to the other I catch the bait in my pond keep them alive and cut them up into the cut bait fresh frozen from past trips only seem to catch the smaller cats
