Your bloody psychic, mate. This is exactly what my golf pro friend has me fixing right now. Better grip, bit of a shorter backswing, keeping the legs quieter and building speed through the release. Practice for a week on simple drills and just shot my lowest round ever.

There is only one other golf vid on KZbin on this grip pressure between the hands …. Well spoken 👏 I find it then relaxes the right forefinger and thumb, with even a chance to lightly touch right forefinger and right thumb. There is even an argument the right palm pressure can avoid rolling wrists (possibly increasing swing width).

Anytime I’m having an issue with my swing, I notice my swing is longer. When I consciously pay attention to my swing length, I immediately start hitting better. Shortening your swing will absolutely change your game for the better, especially with driver
@astorina6 ай бұрын
I play since 20 years and what you say was told to me by a teacher few weeks ago and I can confirm that it helps me a LOT, my interpretation is that on top of the feeling on control and solidity the two wrists work far more together and not one again the other , so thank you

Nobody talks about this! Good job. For me, it starts even earlier, at address. I've added a modest 'compressing' of the arms together at address to ensure the hands are in full contact with one another, to eliminate any 'comfortable' gaps in the grip, especially at that thumb juncture you talk about.

This is uncanny that you posted this today. Before my weekly league round yesterday, I noticed I was essentially "re-gripping" at the top of my swing. I applied the techniques you outlined to keep that grip pressure constant and I noticed 2 things, 1 -- my back swing felt shorter and more importantly 2 -- better more consistent contact.

Absolutely correct in the importance of a correct and constant grip in game improvement. As a regripper at the top, I am always fighting a club face swinging open to closed based on my grasping and clutching that day. A very good video for me, and I hope many others.

Steve. Another lovely video. Thank you. I am happy and confident to know and feel where my hands are at impact. But I need to mentally visualize where my hands are at the end of the backswing and what is the rotation of the hands through backswing and forward swing? Can you help with that? Keep up the superb videos. Cheers!

Back in the late 70’s Davie Miller who I believe played Ryder Cup told me as a junior, that the lead thumb should support the club & act as a brake & Prevents the over swing, assuming it is in the correct position , seems similar to what you are witnessing?

How does this grip work with a single plane swing as the hand is more on top, and for most single plane swings the grip is set further underneath? If you refer to your video " Mind still blown" when hitting your hybrid your trail hand looks further below than what is being shown here.

This only seems to work for that grip style. I mean what if you got a baseball grip or interlock grip? I think these wouldn’t work as well.
@Hybridhuman08946 ай бұрын
Great tip, but you are still allowing your arms to start the downswing rather than your lower body. That is why you are hitting it fat. The lower body starts the downswing. A great grip will not fix this. Good luck!
