Nice breakdown! Very helpful. One other thing that Quayle does is play a specific number of notes per run. Start with say, nine, and make every phrase nine notes. And then twelve, and so on. Shorter runs are more consistent but sometimes sound contrived. The longer runs make for a more thoughtful and "surprising" endeavor. Woo Hoo!!

Yeah being able to go into and out of crosspicking fluidly is a very handy skill that this musically useful exercise exploits quite nicely. And it can be easily tweaked so that the picking direction changes when the line gets repeated nevermind scale type & key. Thanks very much for this GREAT lesson!

Mr. Cordy! Would you be able to make this content available in a form of a podcast? I really enjoy your videos, but I find that I don't always need the visual aspect to understand what's going on. I'd also imagine that you have bluetooth in your car, so obviously you'd be playing it over the speakers anyway, and if not, get an auxiliary cable

Lovely tone. I always prefer your playing when the tone is a cleaner. It’s more difficult, but much more rewarding. Just me maybe, but lead tone drenched in overdrive with bucketfuls delay/verb sounds cheap
