My husband and a couple of friends went to Sturgis and rode 600 miles per day for three days and then half of another day to get there from Georgia. They had one heck of trip. He said they were exhausted every day when they got in, but he’ll never forget it.

David do you live close to mama V. She needs help big time before winter. Her cars not running she needs help with plumbing, insulation. I'm worried for her not being ready for winter. She's been sick but better now. Hoping the community. Family can help her asap. Thanks David

My first bike was a 77xlch sportster. Strait kick, no starter for me. I loved it, easy to work on it. I put a S&S carb on it and changed the jets. It started so much easier and didn't have to let it run for awhile before I took off. I was a pain with someone on the back. I miss that old bike.

Hey David,I have a 1975 shovelhead with a four speed transmission,if you put a bigger front sprocket and smaller rear sprocket by a couple of teeth it will let you cruise better without the feeling of looking for fifth gear,

Your little peanut is purdy. I had a white pearl 1200 sporty fuel injected as well as an 883 carb. I miss my sporty's. They were so fun.

I just discovered there's a town in Arkansas called Magazine!! I was going to ask David what town Magazine tire was in. I'm in Texas in a little town called Deleon. Its about a 5 hour drive to Texarkana and then David is about 1.5 hours north of that. (I'm guessing)

I can see you riding the Sportster down to take a ride on the Classic. Dual purpose storage garage....lol. That will save a ton on gas if you only need to go to town for a few small items.

Neither of my Harleys ever dripped or leaked an ounce, not even my 4 speed Sportster. I did however sell and got a 5 speed, as I was doing exactly as he said, always looking for that 5th gear. Wish I'd have never sold either one of my Harleys. And both mine had great brakes. What in tne heck is he thinking bad brakes are normal, couldn't be further from the truth. My bike was taken care of by Harley Davidson in Alaska and they actually fixed the brakes on my 1200, good enough to throw you over the bars.

Everyone says that spotters are women's motorcycles, maybe you will teach you girlfriend to ride it. I got on behind my wife and tought her how to use the clutch and shift. I reached around her and held on to the bars with her the first few rides then she had it on her own.
