I love the idea of elites going for the cream armor, especially if the elites also have more fur to balance it out. The fur becomes the grit element, while the armor carries a royal feel. Maybe even try purple eyes for those troops rather than red, so they're a bit closer to the base blue while also keeping some heat and adding some royalty.

I did this for my Palanites on Photoshop: all you have todo is use the Vector tool, select the different areas of the armour, then turn them into different layers. Then each and every layer you can colour differently. It’s pretty simple, don’t know why he offered to do a video on it, it’s gonna have to be sooooooo stretched out if he wanted it to be 10-20 minutes.

The process was compelling, but your flavour text hit different. Recognizing childhood nostalgias influence on the design, and especially the idea of brighter shades for the elites. Black, to brown grizzly to cream polar bear, and drop bears are an instant classic. Good stuff.

I like both color schemes. Your idea of giving higher ranking marines the light color scheme is a great one! It gives an easily identifiable oversight when you use them for a wargame. The power fist should be just a massive bear paw that crackles with electricity.

On another note. Astra Primursa looks awesome. And yes it's a lot of fun to play around with and customize Space Marines! While not a custom chapter I did a similar thing for my Minotaurs, adding custom heads/head plumes, shoulders, sculpting capes etc. To really lean into the Spartan aesthetic their special characters have :D

I liked all the models, it's like we're seeing the evolution of this group of marines over time, from their normal armor little by little adhering to bear skins and then a total new armor at the end.

I know you don't necessarily want them to be too close to the space wolves but from a lore standpoint it'd make a lot of sense from them to be a Primaris space marine sub chapter whose gene seed mutated from making them wolf like to bear like instead. It'd also make sense with why they are so much bigger than the average space marine. You could also make your chapter master wear full white to mimic the polar bear, the strongest and biggest of all bears

I honestly think you’d really like making custom Lego minifigures Jazza. If you’re into painting/ sculpting miniatures, there’s an entire community of people who make custom minifigures that are insanely detailed and look really cool. I feel like you’d really enjoy doing at least one, seems right up your alley and it’s really fun (speaking from experience).

I think cream helmets with the dark armour would have been the best of both colour schemes. Highlights the face too. You should probably get someone to 3D sculpt those custom heads, maybe with a grill on the front or some little variations, and then 3D print them. Then you can cast them or 3D print a bunch of them. It'll make your life a lot easier going forwards, as I imagine you'll end up using a lot of them.

I drew up a chapter like this a long time ago but never got round to it due to the sculpts and my custom IG kept eating my time (50,000 points of IG all with custom iconography). But Grizzlies were CC Termies, Kodiaks were Shooty termies, all my apothecaries were panda based, Black bears were scouts and Brown bears were troops. Leadership roles were polar bears. I love what you have done and Look forward to seeing more.

This is inspiring. I love these. I think that a bit of brown or black on the lower legs, and cream on the knees and elbow pads could add a lot of accent to even the standard marines. The wear and tear look helps immensely also with the cream color not being overpowering, but I really dig your idea of different levels of marines gradually becoming more and more like polar bears.

Hey brother, I've never seen your channel before just a 40K fan. I have to say your design really reflects the lore amazingly! The name you chose is fantastic and the concept of a "Space Bear" is awesome and I honestly can't believe I've never seen the idea played out before. I envision these guys as specializing in conducting missions in the harshest of frozen environments. Your idea of them actually hibernating and having incredible patience is amazing and ties in to their specific chapter ability. Perhaps this lends them some regenerative ability? Getting injured during a mission and relaying a safe position before going into hibernation that would save them from a fatal wound. The astartes suddenly stopped and I heard the regal echo of his voice from under his helmet. "Do you know what His greatest weapon is, guardsman?" "No, your excellency." I stammered. He remained still as ice as I awaited the answer. I began to feel uneasy as I stood there in the freezing wind. Just as I thought the astartes had frozen in his armor, I heard the mechanical whir before I saw the glint of his blade. He removed the previously invisible creature from his blade a mere inch from my face and replied: "Patience." Dope stuff man!

Really cool to see and hear that you had so much fun with this. It was almost 2 decades before I finally settled on a completed paint scheme and chapter name / story. It's been evolving through my entire time in the hobby to the point where they feel very much a part of me and my love of the game. :D Now just gotta grind through painting about 15k points worth of marines. XD I finalized my scheme last year and I'm about 25% dome my army at this point. Long ways to go yet, but having so much fun with it.

Absolutely awesome work. I love the idea of varying the armors colour between ranks. Also as someone who got into customizing models quite recently the idea of a "baseline" i think will help me out. You want every model to feel special and look awesome, but if you leave yourself nowhere to go all of them might feel kinda the same.

This is amazing!!! I wanna see Dreadnoughts that look like bears, same goes for Imperial Knights!!! Or bear themed tanks, different vehicles with bear features. Even probably Terminator armor, if you're gonna use terminators then I suggest using maybe the Cataphract looking ones from Thousand Sons or use Custodes as a base maybe...? You can even use Indomitus for good inspiration too. This work is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and am really hoping for more of your glorious chapter
