Love the diversity in tops we've been seeing in these tournaments. We're at the point where we see specific pilots in tops more often than we see archetypes which really speaks to their skills.

The Sidisi lines involve the synergy between her exploit ETB ability, and Kodama's ETB ability. Basically having Kodama on the battlefield, then playing Sidisi lets you exploit her before you resolve Kodamas ability. Finding karmic guide into hand, the putting it into play with Kodamas ability. Then letting you reanimate Sidisi, finding felidar guardian, flickering karmic guide, reanimating Sidisi, finding restoration angel. This results in infinite blink with felidar guardian and resto angel, putting infinite kodama triggers on the stack. You end the game by finally flickering karmic guide with Felidar guardian, reanimating Sidisi one final time. Sidisi finds you Acererak, which you put into play and bounce back to hand infinitely with Kodama's infinite triggers you put on the stack. This ventures you into The lost mine of Phandelver, hitting the dark pool infinitely. Killing everyone. That whole combo involves casting just 1 spell if Kodama was played on another turn, so it can win through your rule of law effects. Having played the deck briefly its folds to most stax pieces, like Grafdigger's Cage, Torpor Orb/Elesh Norn, and any graveyard hate. Very fun when you can pull it off though.

^ this. I love the list, but it feels so fragile to play. Any removal also stops the combos. They also take heaps of deck space, unlike Tymna/Kahmal which goes all in on stax and beats.

As someone who has personally played with Snake a ton, his Nymris deck is one that wins a lot of games but in a lengthy amount of time. In timed Swiss matches certain additions like sheoldred needed to be added in order to wrap up games quicker.

Not super involved in cEDH but find it interesting; are proxied decks generally permitted in these events? An absurdly expensive format to actually buy the cards for but it seems interesting with all the convoluted combos and different decks that see play

The 2nd reason for Birgi over Etherium Sculptor is that the back side can replace Elsha if you have another cost reducer. Cast Top for 0, activate it to draw a card. Discard that card to the horn to exile Top plus 1 other card. Restart loop from the beginning, you end up with half your deck in your graveyard and half playable from exile and you should be able to piece a win from there.

@@ComedIanMTGI’ve been seeing a lot of versions with Hullbreaker Horror and The One Ring… with Hullbreaker I’m skeptical because it would literally require you to hard cast it, even though 7 isn’t much different than the 6 mana your spending into Tivit, but without being able to “cheat” it into play, is it better than Urza? And I guess I’m also questioning Urza’s reliability, is he just to ensure we don’t lose to null rod effects? And lastly, without a way to untap The One Ring, it feels a bit slow, so why are people running it in other Tivit lists?

As to Birgi - the reason we like her is because her backside can function as a replacement Elsha if paired with a different cost reducer, since you can essentially do the same loop but just discard the card we drew with top to exile two cards and then replay top from exile, and rinse and repeat.

So with Kodoma out you cast sidisi exploit it, get karmic guide, put guide in with kodoma trigger, repeat sidisi, get feldiar, or resto Ang, target guide, repeat get the other now have angel target guardian repeating targeting each other for Inf kodama triggers break chain get sidisi off one last karmic guide get lich. And with inf kodama triggers do your thing like you would alluren

You can use Ruthless Technomancer to loop Dockside with a sac outlet (like the Skirk Prospector in that list). The Dockside count needs to be at least 5 (or 4 if your sac outlet makes mana). You use Technomancer's second ability to keep returning Dockside after you sacrifice it. But it's also just a nice value piece in a Dargo list where you can eat Dargo to the Technomancer ETB for 7 treasures and start doing Dargo things.

on top of this two technomancers (twinflame cursed mirror) goes infinite with dargo (sac original to dargo, reanimate it with copy to sac dargo recast dargo loop) which also makes magda+ technomancer a true a+b by finding the mirror.

Sheoldred is playable in Nymris due to Nymris’s ability to slow down the game( hullbreaker beat down is almost an alternate wincon in the deck) It’s not one I’ve thought about running as a wincon but I think it’s cool.

Man that top 4 was a miserable game. Seeing the stream on waffle's channel it looked horrible, ngl. Lots of sniping table talk and super slow game play. That said that Nymris list absolutely dominated the table for like 80% of the game. Aside, nice to see dihada get some results. That first list is a little strange. I assume Yawgmoth is in there to proliferate loyalty counters on dihada and feed a breach. Weird to see saw in half and no hoarding broodlord though, especially on so many creatures to convoke. Those lines are insane. The 2nd dihada list looks like Alana's, grats to her for placing if so. She's an amazing pilot, seeing her play on pwp was pretty wild.

Pretty surprising to see some of the cards that the yuriko is running, because I kinda live in the yuriko discord and I see that having both rhystic and mystic is pretty redundant since you have card advantage in the command zone already. Really cool stuff seeing yuriko see a top 16

i have no respect for Kenrith, Thrasios, nor Kinnon, Gretchen Titchwillow. And arguably, i might give Urza lord high artificer some respect. But when your entire deck is "Resolve Seedborne muse, proceed to win" and you have access to counterspells it's just too easy to win. Who needs extra turns when your opponents turn is also your turn. And you have access to extra turn spells.

hulk actually sucks in tayam because tayam can’t recur it, so it needs a way to cheat in to play, plus theres no sac outlet in the command zone. Also hulk requires the running of a “pile” which is just even more dead cards.

Diverse meaning the different commanders in top 16. Most decks run like 80% the same cards lol. Not many top 16s have a nymris, yuriko and such
