Honestly I don't like comments like this. Cause yea, have I seen oak trees with limbs that are more than some of those entire trees? Yes. But is that relevant to him in the mountains of the PNW? no. His equipment is tuned for what he was, and in the enviornment he has its more than adquate. to compare it to another region is simply silly.

He was the one that tried to point out that east coast guys dont know what large trees are or how to deal with them. Did you watch the video? He made a joke I made a joke. If you cant handle that than i suppose you need to go back to watching sesame street, might be more of your speed.

Grandfather owns a 4-7 acre lumber yard and their are some pretty big trees and some small ones but he used a 32in bar like that for all trees and has no problems. Cody is just saying that he needs that and that's what his load out is designed for. I hate it when people try to prove someone wrong, it's just a matter of opinion. But there are smaller and bigger trees on each coast. it's just what you need and want.

Im from SW Pennsylvania and would love to have a 32" bar on a big 70+ cc saw. I have a nice walnut log in my yard ready for milling but my 036 Pro with 21" ES bar wont be anywhere near long enough. The guys over here are convinced a 16" homeowner saw will do everything. Once had a guy scoff and tell me if i needed a 24" bar to cut trees down, then i shouldnt be cutting those trees down. All because i told him i didnt want to buy his POS MS290 that was beat to crap and he still wanted $300...
@unclej59518 жыл бұрын
ontarioknivesNS7 that 036 Will turn at least a 24 inch bar fine. that's what I use for my middle saw. I need a big one for cottonwood around here but 24 inches is fine for the smaller stuff. that would give you a few more inches cut without having to back cut too.
@Urbicide8 жыл бұрын
He wanted $300 because it's one of them there Steal Saws! Funny how some of these "experts" rate & judge a saw by the length of the bar! Heck, you could hang a 36" bar on a Pull-on "Wild Thing". Of course, then you would need a matching 36" Kentucky chain to run on it. That's 114 drive links with 1 tooth on it. :-P
@G19Jeeper8 жыл бұрын

I so enjoy watching your videos Cody, I really have enjoyed the newly added drone footage. You take great care in the great responsibility of being a good teacher. Watching the chips, as they come out of a chainsaw, tells me whether or not my saw is still sharp. As I've learned to expect by your good character, your chips were evenly large, showing that your saw had been cared for and was sharp, ready for the task at hand. Please keep up the good work, as I know it must take a lot of your time to create these videos. And also I thank you for sharing so much of your life with us as interested viewers. The next modification you should look into for that tractor is the "Byte Tyte" aluminum chainsaw scabbard that you can mount wherever you want and it safely carries your chainsaw along... They are available at Madsens logging supply. I have one I integrated into my spare tire carrier on my Wrangler for bringing a saw along on the trail and its great... might be handy when you are using the brush grapple and don't have the standard loader bucket to pack tools in. I believe its Made in USA as well... Its like a chainsaw version of your Grizzly peak ent. scabbards.

Scott, snatch blocks and cable saved me from a very expensive tow call. Likely would have had to hire a Skidder instead of a tow truck plus float charges to bring it in. Joshua, in some machinery circles they call it a 4-Way Bucket which makes for a great multi purpose machine. Whether it be gravel, boulders or logs it's there on your machine. Sh' that minimizes attachment purchases.

Cody I can't say enough how much you are doing a fantastic job on your cinematography. The sequence in the beginning of going up into and above the clouds I was just awww struck! So Cool, as well as cycling through your angles and keeping it fresh and interesting! Awesome job Cody! As for the name of the tractor, I love the "Defiant"

having all the different camera angles does make me feel like I am in the tractor...very good video

I just reached the entire DS9 series on Netflix. The Defiant sounds like the perfect name. I'm surprised that any logger would argue about that with all the timber you have. As you said though, the "forum experts" all have an opinion. Looking forward to seeing how that snow mover does and how the short logs look!

That shot at 4:03 is pretty cool. Maybe "Lil Red Tuffy" is a fitting name. Tough little tractor. Great video.

I like your videos but I believe you have surpassed in equipment what the common person feels they can obtain. Again, I say that I enjoy your videos. You have such a treasure in your wife, your son, and your pets.

Are you planning on doing a review of the tractor? I would be curious to know why you chose Yanmar over other similar tractors. I enjoy watching your product review-esque videos; I like seeing the thought and rationale involved in your purchases.

I am pretty sure the drone has become the best investment for this channel production wise. It makes your transitioning scenes so great. And with this new set of acoustic covers as well they are top notch!
