Again Dave: You've done it once more, your incredible narration; filled with nuance and heart has brought the viewer closer (in a little over 5 minutes) emotionally to the caring and lovely actors of "Little House on the Prairie." Sir, there are a lot of "Copycats" which "Dot" the KZbin landscape. However, all they succeed in doing is filling their KZbin efforts; (if one could even call them that) with proverbial "Disappearing Ink." With complete respect sir; not only are you Not a "Copycat" - No sir, indeed You're "The Cat!" It's a joy everyday to see whom in or which part of pop culture you've decided to delve into. The truth is people come back over and over again to your community; because of your understanding, compassion, and honesty which is found in yourself and all of your presentations. Thank you so much for Not only what you choose to do as your hobby; because moreover and more importantly how you choose to show and allow the world to be a part of it. Thanks -

Another great video, Dave! Little House was a true classic that always makes me wish I could rewind time. You've covered so many of my favorite classic memories, it's amazing! It really helps when I talk to my brother about, "Hey, remember this?" type things. The one thing missing (or at least could not find in your uploads) was a spot on the classiest woman to ever have come out of Hollywood, Audrey Hepburn. I know there are a million others that have done it already, but one more could never hurt! From Roman Holiday to Breakfast at Tiffany's and Charade to Robin and Marian, she is a delight. Don't get me started on those eyes of hers. They could melt an iceberg.

It’s sad, as a fan, to say goodbye to these performers, and their beloved characters as well. The death of Victor French is one I know you’ve touched on in the past. They are almost family, and we are forced, due to the unique circumstances, to sit idly by and just let them go...

That is sad. But is sadder too because that episode is rarely seen because is one of those extended 90 minute episodes thats too short for a 2 parter but too long for a regular episode. It weird too because the show jumps from Lars being okay to having had passed away, similarly to when Almanzo had his stroke in between the tornado and “new beginnings” episodes. We rarely get to see how the Wilders went from having the big house to the little cabin Both those missing episodes are great we got to see a vulnerable side of the characters rarely seen. Not sure if i knew that was Karl in The Birds I LOVED that movie (and I believe Tippi Hedren went to my Alma mater HS for a time) The movie did not make me scared of birds but i do get a tad nervous when i see a whole bunch in one place and lately they have been hanging out at my back porch on top of the water heater shed under an awning so when I open the back door they fly out making a lot of noise it does make ma jump and duck a little. Little House on the Prairie was filmed in the area where there were 8 nuclear meltdowns in CA, out in Simi Valley, near the Santa Susanna Field Test Lab, where 8 reactors melted down, plutonium everywhere. I’m sorry. I don’t mean to correct you, nor do I want to dispute but, Michael Landon did know that Karl Swenson aka Lars Hanson on LHOTP was going to die. It’s why he named Walnut Grove after him as the founder of the town. It was in memory of Swenson’s role as Hanson and his life and death, both in the show and in real life. As you clearly stated, Swenson died before the episode aired, and the dedication had already been made. I was a faithful viewer of LHOTP when I was 11 years old back in 82, and I still am today at almost 49. I purchased the whole series (9 seasons) and the last and final 3 episodes on Amazon Prime Video. (Each season at $12.and the last three episodes at $15 each, for those who are interested.). Beginning with the pilot in season 1 thru hello and goodbye in season 9 episode 22. Followed by, Look back to yesterday, bless all the children and the last farewell. I did so, because once purchased, I can watch it over and over again, without giving another cent, as long as I have my account with Amazon Prime Video. Furthermore, I can watch it in chronological order, or skip to whichever episode I want to watch, for whatever reason. The thing is sir, that it’s better to leave things alone and not go looking for shadows, because what you’d find, might be very disappointing. I did so for quite some time, and I had to give it up, because it was making the show less and less than it actually is. So believe me when I tell you that Michael did know about Swenson. I’ve known “that”, and much more for some time now and it’s not a speculation, It’s the respect Michael gave to a dear friend! I won’t go on about what I discovered through the years, because I don’t want to mess things up for others. Michael Landon was a good and very intelligent man. He was creative and loved to give his love for free to anyone he could. All he asked for before he died, was for producers who were his friends, to continue what he was leaving behind, which was to create shows such as LHOTP, because he saw where the future for TV shows was headed and he didn’t like it. He was right! God bless you all.

Joan Swenson ( Karl’s wife) stayed in her book that she had no idea that her husband was that ill…His heart attack was a complete shock to her. So maybe it was possible that Karl made a decision not to share with her the extent of his illness when they travelled back East to visit family members. Perhaps he informed Michael Landon but wanted to protect his wife from worry. Karl died just days before his appearance was broadcast. Joan refused to watch the show but she said her sister Bea convinced her to watch it. I met Joan years after all of this happened. I never met Karl but I can tell all of you Joan was perfectly matched for Karl. She was both a great talent and a great person. May both Karl and Joan Rest In Peace. 💕🙏💕

Thank you for the information. Did know Carl was Eddie Haskell's dad or remember him on Maverick. Those were my favorite shows. I guess Jame Gardener was my focus then and Jake Kelly.

Before Little House, I mostly remember Karl from The Andy Griffith Show. He was Mr. McBeevee.

Someone said that of course we remember ‘little house on the Prairie’ because it’s on 3 house a day-I live in the Atlanta area and it’s on 10 hours a day and the Waltons are on 15 hours a day-It appears that someone at these television stations only like these dramas from the 1970’s-!

The royalties are cheap. That is why it plays so much. Those guys didn't make hundreds of thousands of dollars per episode like today's actors

Those shows ARE worth watching. The garbage they put out now is revolting!

The same thing happened to Dan Blocker on Bonanza, if i remember right. The cast mourned over his loss as a coworker on a sad episode.

I was not aware of this. I too agree that people know sometimes, when it's time for them.
