I think the best way to explain the humor is like watching Evil Dead/Army of Darkness. It is such over the top horror, that it is hilarious.

Enemies don’t “just hit you.” They just don’t roll dice. You would roll agility to dodge their attack. Otherwise no characters would make it lol

I just picked up this rulebook yesterday, and I really appreciate any system that can easily convey the rules as well as the setting and atmosphere in such a small amount of pages. Nothing seemed overly complicated and it seems like the kind of system that would be really fun to just play with some friends

Oh no, this game is perfect for my TTRPG crew. This is going to be absolutely chaotic and I need to run it right now.

I’m gonna throw in Slav Borg and QVKE Borg as well. All the Borg stuff out there is done in such an artistically (for me at least) pleasing way, that just owning and reading through the books and zines is a treat.

I flip through dozens of these kinds of videos and finish nearly none of them. This one was freakin' great, man. Well done!

Ngl this is a system I’d by do rather run over D&D at this point, the rules are so easy to understand and it’s styled in a way that makes me generate the adventure as it goes along and don’t have to take it so seriously. Granted my players are ride or die for D&D and as much as I still enjoy our campaign, I’ve been wanting to run other stuff every once in a while

Honestly, there are a lot of games I want to play outside of dnd, and this is one of them. >:)

Imagine if Gary Gygax didn't read Lord of the Rings, but instead read Conan and HP Lovecraft when he was inventing D&D. This is what Mork Borg is like. And was listening to Black Sabbath. Oh, and I think you miss-read a rule - in combat, you make all the rolls, the enemy does not just hit you automatically ... when your enemy attacks you, you roll a Defense roll - over a 12, and you evade their attack.
@Dungeon_BitsАй бұрын
@@davelanciani-dimaensionx i mean, he did draw inspiration from both Conan & Lovecraft. Particularly liking Conan.
@davelanciani-dimaensionxАй бұрын
@@Dungeon_Bits Aha - it just seems to me he focused more on the "high magic" and fantasy of Tolkien. D&D is not very "Conan-esque", or gritty/dark oriented. Which is why I love Mork Borg. You could easily do a Conan style setting.

I picked this game up over a year ago. I'm desperate to run it some time, but I'm not sure what my Pathfinder bros will think of it.

@@walstafa seems like it’d be a BIG difference. But, I’m sure a one shot of it would be a fun change of pace! I hope you can get your game of Mork Borg!

I introduced it to my Pathfinder 2e group in a one shot and they absolutely loved it. It was a nice change of pace from Pathfinder because it is so simple and brutal.

Really great review. I can tell you have totally absorbed the games intent & get what its about. That does take a bit of effort because of the mysterious presentation. But ultimately I think that the work you put in to savour the mood & wrestle with the cryptic, that is Mork Borg - that struggle is opening your third eye to the twisted misery.
