"I sit here with my tungsten cube, transcendent above death itself. For insofar as this tungsten cube will last forever, I am in the presence of immortality." - Richard Behiel 2019
FINALLY! I finished my Tungsten cube animation! This took so much longer than the Geologist one. I cut out over a full minute from the original audio cause it was just so long. And so here we are. Hope you enjoy!
No tungsten was harmed in the making of this animation.

Ah yes, two metals: Tungsten Cube & Osmium Orb. One brings wisdom and order, the other brings power and chaos. The two metals sealed away on shrines on opposite sides of the globe, feared by the people who witnessed the tyranny, sorrow and war brought upon them by those whom laid their fingers on such materials, corrupting their souls until death. And protected by guardians whos gods have gifted them immortality in exchange for their freedom and their sworn oath to protect the materials from the mortals who may bring such blights upon the world once again.

This cubed cured my mortality. All the people here who bought this wireless tungsten cube to admire its surreal heft have precisely the wrong mindset. I, in my exalted wisdom and unbridled ambition, bought this cube to become fully accustomed to the intensity of its density, to make its weight bearable and in fact normal to me, so that all the world around me may fade into a fluffy arena of gravitational inconsequence. And it has worked, to profound success. I have carried the tungsten with me, have grown attached to the downward pull of its small form, its desire to be one with the floor. This force has become so normal to me that lifting any other object now feels like lifting cotton candy, or a fluffy pillow. Big burly manly men who pump iron now seem to me as little children who raise mere aluminum. I can hardly remember the days before I became a man of tungsten. How distant those days seem now, how burdened by the apparent heaviness of everyday objects. I laugh at the philistines who still operate in a world devoid of tungsten, their shoulders thin and unempowered by the experience of bearing tungsten. Ha, what fools, blissful in their ignorance, anesthetized by their lack of meaningful struggle, devoid of passion. Nietzsche once said that a man who has a why can bear almost any how. But a man who has a tungsten cube can bear any object less dense, and all this talk of why and how becomes unnecessary. Schopenhauer once said that every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world. Tungsten expands the limits of a man’s field of vision by showing him an example of increased density, in comparison to which the everyday objects to which he was formerly accustomed gain a light and airy quality. Who can lament the tragedy of life, when surrounded by such lightweight objects? Who can cry in a world of styrofoam and cushions? Have you yet understood? This is no ordinary metal. In this metal is the alchemical potential to transform your world, by transforming your expectations. Those who have not yet held the cube in their hands and mouths will not understand, for they still live in a world of normal density, like Plato’s cave dwellers. Those who have opened their mind to the density of tungsten will shift their expectations of weight and density accordingly. To give this cube a rating of anything less than five stars would be to condemn life itself. Who am I, as a mere mortal, to judge the most compact of all affordable materials? No. I say gratefully to whichever grand being may have created this universe: good job on the tungsten. It sure is dense. I sit here with my tungsten cube, transcendent above death itself. For insofar as this tungsten cube will last forever, I am in the presence of immortality.

@@zynstein8059 What a worthless plight having but three tungsten cubes as opposed to four for when you have that many the world twists from feeling like cushions and pillows to feeling like helium, nay, hydrogen may be the better comparison. The crushing of mortals, immortals, and amortals alike seems pitiful in its simplicity. It is like snapping a finger, however, even snapping your fingers can take practice. Perhaps it is more akin to clapping your hands. Whichever way you choose to describe such glorious power it makes it both clear to me and to you that having four tungsten cubes is superior.

I bought a 1-inch tungsten cube and brought it to work to show people; I can confirm there are two reactions to people first encountering the cube: 1-“you spent $50 on this?” 2-“oh wow why is it so heavy? Wait you spent $50 on this?” Also I dropped it a few times and now there are permanent scratches and dents on the floor.

@robertnagy3942

@Mangle 3 inches = 3*2.54 centimeters, which is 7.62 centimeters. Assume 3 inches is the side of the cube, which means its volume is 7.62*7.62*7.62, which gives you 442.45 cubic centimeters. Tungsten's density is 19.3 grams/ cubic cm, which means if we have 442.45 cubic cm, we can calculate its mass using the following formula: mass = density * volume. So its mass would be 442.45 * 19.3, which is 8,539.285 grams, divide by 1000 and you get that the Tungsten cube with a side length of 3 inches has a mass of 8.539 kilograms. Which would be equal to 8.539 * 2.2 pounds, which is 18.786 pounds, far from 30-40. But let's calculate the mass of the 4 inch tungsten cube too. Again, assuming 4 inches is the side length of the cube, not its diameter. 4 in = 4*2.54cm = 10.16 cm, cube the number for the volume: V = 1,048.77 cubic cm. Density remains 19.3 g/ cm^3, which means the mass is equal to 1,048.77 * 19.3 = 20,241.3 grams. Divide by 1000, you get 20.24 kg, which is 44.53 lbs. Thus, the mass of both the 3 inch side length cube, and the 4 inch side length cube, falls outside of the range you have given (30-40) (actual results: 3 inch - 18.786 lbs; 4 inch - 44.53 lbs) I did the calculations where I assumed the 3 and 4 inches were diagonals, and the results were significantly smaller than 30 pounds. "a" is the side of the cube, then we know using the Pythagorean theorem, that the square diagonal is a* square root of 2, and the diagonal of the entire cube, (body diagonal) is a* sqrt(3) . Then we know that a*sqrt(2) = 3, then a = 3 / sqrt(2), or a = 4/ sqrt(2) and you get a much smaller side length, same with the body diagonal. Therefore, in conclusion, your comment is wrong, due to the fact, that none of the masses fall into the number range (30, 40), not even in the [30, 40] closed range.
