There's some harsh irony in a guy who, despite being known for his luck, had his entire life and riches torn from him beyond his control, shoved into multiple dangerous situations and then ultimately shoved in a cell with limited interactions for what is probably the rest of his life. Again, all for things that are legitimately beyond his control. It's a crying shame because it's clear that even if he was the luckiest man in the world, judging from how he has to live now, he's far from the happiest.

I find it an interesting implied distinction that he does not merely call the right outcome, but he seems to influence it. Look at 9:58. Having him call the same side on 50 or any infinite amount of repetitions, proves Lucky doesn't just guess what will happen, he influences what will happen, and how. Due to the nature of the test, him having to call the SAME right side every time, effectively limitless power to influence outcomes is proven, rather than a rather limited ability to guess outcomes. Otherwise, while he would be right 50 out of 50 times, he couldn't make it be heads 50 times, nor could he make the dices land on 7. If the test was ''just be right'', it wouldn't prove much. But ''be SPECIFICALLY and CONSECUTIVELY right about the SAME OUTCOME'' insinuates he cannot merely guess, but also influence, the outcome he needs. What I mean is, he didn't just guess the outcome of the coin or dice toss and was right every time. He actually made it be heads 50 times out of 50, and the dice would land on 7 ever time, seemingly because he needed it to be. It's not like he intuits what the outcome will be. For instance, he didn't only perform 50 coin tosses and happened to know what to call, instead, the outcome seems to be(come) whatever he needs/wants it to be. Otherwise, he would have called heads/tails and been right every time (which wouldn't prove nor exclude his power to not only guess the outcome, but influence it). This distinction greatly elevates the extent of his potential power. He doesn't intuit what the universe is going to do, he actively influences it: the outcomes become what he needs it to be. If he understood his strenght and knew how to control it, he may never have ended up essentially incarcerated at the Foundation... Or eventually escape it. This is what I like about SCP writing, it is usually expertly crafted to both make these entities potentially unstoppable, and having their powers be limitless, simultaneously maintaing a shroud of mystery. While the coin tosses imply the insanity of it, we still don't know the extent of Lucky's power. Balancing potentially uncapped power levels with a level of mystery is soooo good and sooo difficult, it's super impressive:D

@@eulalawrence4885 So, if he flips a coin or rolls dice, he can control (subconsciously) the outcome of that. And, if picking a card, he is drawn to the card that he requires. So the former is the real altering part of his ability, since he changes the actual outcome. The latter part of his ability, also shown with what happened in the jail cell and the punch, is something his ability does to him and his responses. I guess, in that sense, the former probably is also his ability controlling him to flip a coin and roll dice in a way to have that outcome too. Though that doesn't explain outcomes where he's not directly controlling it, like roulette. Hmm...
@dra6o0n3 жыл бұрын
@@Silverizael It's not the actions that are lucky, its the reality that he resides in that grant him that luck. Reality favors him with certain probability checks. It's like reading a multiple choice story novel but turning back the page and choosing the result you favor. The novel does not have a page where he evades being arrested or stops going to casinos, the novel is written with a end result in mind, meaning while being lucky, his fate is already set in stone.

"Classified as safe" That's a violation of classification protocols. Being a sentient being with intelligence, he would have to be a Euclid class at minimum. Safe can only include things that not only can't leave their containment (like this guy), but are also objects or otherwise of animal intelligence or below.
@zeedstun8913 жыл бұрын
I can see them marking him as safe to keep lax standards on containment. if it becomes too stringent, he might get lucky and break out. a safe class breaking out, isnt all that special. its all just to rig the game

@@zeedstun891 Ah, so the truth is, the game was rigged from the start.

@@zeedstun891 I wonder if the classification is also something connected to his ability. Like, his luck made him get a lower classification, despite that being against protocol.
@phxcppdvlazi3 жыл бұрын
If they classified him as Euclid and he tried to get out by simply walking out, the guards would probably trip and fall in some absurd way to breach containment. Or there would be some other actuallly dangerous Keter breach that would cause him to be released. Best to give him the most normal, bland existence with minimal risk so that he doesn't get lucky and cause something bad or worse to happen on his site.

If he was really lucky, he wouldn't have been locked up in the first place. He would be an individual that's always able to escape the foundation whenever they think they have him cornered. Any time he gets "captured" the vehicle would flip, stall, doors open, etc, and he's able to make an escape. The fact that he was caught and contained shows that he isn't lucky.

The scp foundation was pretty sloppy on this one. It's only a matter of time till he learns about his ability. So why not try to get on his good side before he becomes a threat to the foundation?

My question: what's to stop his power from releasing him via random chance to preserve his sanity when they go out of their way to lock him in solitary? There was no mention of reality anchors or the like, which I'd want to test with him and if they worked, just set him up with one and let him have entertainment. How bad is that breach going to be?
