In this video I take a neglected property for ugly to beautiful. I start by locating and reestablishing and edge. that was quite the task but not nearly as bad as shoveling all of the overgrown grass from the cracks in the driveway and sidewalk. once I had all of the debris removed from the cracks I experimented with using my debri loader to vacuum up the dirt and grass clippings.... I mean it is Debris so in theory it should work lol. I think it would have worked good if I would have had my hose on the Billy goat a little tighter.
so that was a pretty epic fail but on to the next part I used my blower to put all of the excess dirt in and grass trimmings from the edge on to the turf so that I can mow over it. while I had the blower out I blew the leaves out of the flowerbed and away from the house and just like the debris from the edging i am going to mow over it with a mulching mower but not just any mower a $20 mower I bought at a yard sale last year just for you.... I know you like to see me Work like a mule on crazy stuff and I might as well take this all the way back to the good old days of push mowing. lol but for real I actually really enjoyed push mowing again. this was the first time in about 4 years now and it was very peaceful. I really enjoyed taking my time and doing this lawn right. It seems like most of the time I am on the run and it is go go go of course most of the properties I service on a regular basis don't demand a lot of time to keep them maintained in comparison to a clean up like this.
I am looking forward to using the push mower in the future to show my viewers tips and tricks that they can use to clean up their property. I know that many of my viewers are either home owners or just starting a business and some of what I take for granted and no longer put much though in to can really go along ways to helping other to not over work themselves.

I agree weedeater is a lot better for stuff like that, but I have also found that a roofer's tear off shovel works really well for stuff like that. It has little teeth at the tip that tend to cut through tough grass roots a little easier. Just a tip that works for me.

I hadn’t thought about a roofers shovel, but yes it would do the job much easier. I’m sure you’ve noticed that some of the shovels Kevin uses still have labels on them, very dull. Years ago shovels were pre sharpened when you bought them but in this sissy world we live in some crybaby might cut his little finger.😢

Those were always the way we found all the houses we started off with. That's why My dad, brother and me stayed in business. There were no blowers are esters back in my time. All done by hand. 5 yards every Saturday plus our own. Happy Birthday. Sad. I been outta college longer than you've lived on this earth. Lawn maintenance tools has come a long way. I have used them all. I still get out the sling blade to keep the alley clean where we are. Since the city stopped 10 years ago. Neighbors don't care. Great exercise. Reason i don't pay for a workout. Free, do lawn work.

I know what you mean. I developed M.S. and can't mow my lawn in the heat anymore. I had to hire a landscaper, and they just don't do it the way I used to have it, no matter what I ask. They let grass grow in the cracks and between the street and the curbing.

I used to be one of those guys that mowed every 3 weeks, 4 if I could stretch it, hated lawn work, and even got a few warnings from the city last year for being too lax. Started watching your channels a couple months ago. Not saying I like lawn work now, but I'm hooked on your channels for some reason, mowing every week, and even starting to do some edging and such. I gotta say after watching you do this a lot. You are 100% correct in your personal assessment. You are way more efficient with the string trimmer than the stick edger. I mean unless it's nasty over grown you seem to get the edging done so much faster with the string trimmer.

Our yard guys have weed eaten our ground cover that was bricked off in between shrubbery, broken yard and patio ornaments and left dust on the back patio from edging around and then blowing it.... in a space of 3 yrs. We are senior citizens on a fixed budget w a large corner property that my husband, due to multiple health conditions, could no longer keep up w in this Tx heat. I guess you get what you pay for. They only shape the top portions of our shrubbery so I use hand held snippers [?] to shape the rest and clear the bottoms. Love watching how careful and respectful you are of others' things and property. God bless you for the help you give to others.
