An interesting challenge would be Missile Mafia, using only Marauders, Cyclone, Mine, Viking, Banshee's. Would Cover alot of weaknesses of the normal cyclone mine. Like using a few marauders for concussive shell against robo toss and the viking banshee for harass and air control. As well as using banshee's against the roach flood that is a normal hard counter for cyclones.

Hey Uthermal, I once heard about this trick: You click a million liberators together on 1 spot, then you siege them somewhere. While they are sieging, they will push each other outwards, but they will still siege the same spot, so the liberator pushed to the back gets even a bigger range. Then you unsiege the ones that are in front and you only have the giga range liberator left in siege mode. I never tried it myself though, but do you know if that works? Maybe you can make it work in this series?

I love this series. I had to rewatch the first game a 2nd time with comments off and the "Airwolf Original Soundtrack Theme" playing, when Uthermal attacked with the 5 Banshees. So good. Again, thanks for this series, thanks for finally some professional Skyterran. Maybe blue color? Like the sky. :) I like the no-Viking-landing. Maybe you can take the Viking landing a "Phase II", in the later stage of the Challenge, when it's maybe necessary, that Vikings have to battle ground- and airtargets.

I think that part of what makes your videos so interesting to watch is to see how you can use the full potential of whatever unit you are using, so not landing vikings would be sad, (and to me, even a little bit frustrating) so I vote for you to land vikings and wreck havoc with your godly micro in whatver way possible. Landed Vikings are still air force to me, especially if you had watched the epic Heart of the Swarm opening trailer, coolest shit ever even if the Viking gets rekt by an Ultralisk. Since the current tech has no transforming plane to ground robots yet, instead, we look at the Parachute Regiment Soldiers - who are actually considered as part of airborne force; not of ground forces. And in warfare, the use of Air travel/transport/battle is to circumvent the disadvantageous ground/terrain, so flying a unit and then landing it somewhere still falls under such a definition.

I was so hype for this show !! It's awesome !! About landing the vikings, at first i thought it was some cheating, i thought it wasn't in the spirit of the show, but in only one episode i changed my mind ! after all, landing is a skill of this flying unit so, it respect the spirit :) If you don't want to use them too early on the ground, a good compromise would be to be authorized to use them in 2 differents levels : - for now, just having the right of landings them for killing turrents and others defensive static stuff - when it'll be more difficult as you climb the ladder, maybe use them as you need, like you want

Raven support would be sick with BCs. Think about how much damage they would do if you dump anti-armor missiles on their army. Not only that, but you can block off their escape with auto turrets if they try to kite or run from the BCs. Also, I don't have any problem with you being able to land the Vikings.

I think 1 reaper + 4 marines instead of 5 is a better rule for early game just because it is "reaper for scout + full bunker at home" :)

My favourite challenge so far was bongcloud but I can already say after only one episode that Sky Terran to GM is gonna dethrone it. I would really like to see a squad of hit and run Banshee with maybe 10 to 12 Banshees to snipe bases and get out ! As for the viking whether you should land them or not, I feel like banshees, libs and BC with also auto turrets is already a wide array of anti ground units even though it is lacking in some ways but I would like to see how you could play with this disadvantage... only my humble opinion tbh Do whatever you want Thermy and congrats for the very soon 50k subs !

Landed vikings are awesome, as long as they're used alike (real-world) marines. A tactical option to do a landing, get some work done, and fly off again. May of course also be used generally for early game defense.

Viking Landable? Definitely! It's the Sky T's most versatile unit. As long as the unit is made from Starport, all abilities from the unit are not restricted at all.

A couple rule changes: 1: land the vikings. I would love to see a small army of ground vikings rolling up on a fight when they need to. The combo looks awesome. 2: limit 2 seige tanks. As you said defense will be the biggest problem, so having 2 tanks will lower the pressure, while also needing to defend them a lot since you only get 2.

I had wanted to see this challenge for a while, especially during the raven challenge. When I saw that Maru game, 100% knew this was coming. Land the vikings in the heart of every terran fan is the hope of seeing hyperspeed rotar landed viking, and BCs. Not very good but Viking drops would be pretty damn funny too, for the memes.

+1 for landed vikings. The wouldn't count as an available unit in "ground terran", so you're just kneecaping the composition. Plus it gives one extra reason for transformation servos, and you can leverage the bonus damage vs mechanical in interesting ways.

Forcing scans with cloaked units is really like a tax kinda. it's inherently useful, even without damage done. It also takes their APM. I used to blindly send DT's while massing, and it really works at lower levels.

I just want to give my 2 cents on landing vikings, landing vikings isn't neccesary the most useful ability in the game but when combined with this specific challenge I think it would be an obvious tool to utilize, it's not like it would make the challenge that much easier but what it would do is give you a much larger diversity of builds and more opporunities to outplay, it would also let you utilize that unit in order to disguise what you're building and then those units would still have utility even if the opponent doesn't make any air units. It would be cool to design builds like that. I don't know about what's required to fend of different builds and cheeses, and I'm all for allowing a little bit of grease to make the challenge more entertaining and not watching you lose a won game in which you outplay like crazy purely to blind counters so I would absolutely say use a couple tanks rather than get auto killed against certain builds but if it's possible and it sounds like it might be a stretch but using vikings against ground forces might just give you enough utility not to need tanks or at least as many, it would be way better for the challenge if you only needed 2 tanks rather than 5 if it means landing vikings.
