I'd say any units and any amount of units that let you survive the transition to a sky army is fair game. Even the iconic Skytoss has a ground army, but I understand not wanting to go that far in a challenge series. Furthermore I simply trust that you won't overdo or abuse any ground units you allow yourself.

I think the marine rule should be you have a cap on 6 marines, this way rushing or getting neo steel armor aka building armor is actually super impactful and you are only allowed to fill 1 bunker this would make holds against many things a lot more successful

It also allows us to see a bit more of his skills with micro. Able to select units and move them to the back as they are damaged.

To be honest. I am a big fan of polling community for how to deal with the defensive holes in the challenges. This makes the challenges feel much more organic and makes me feel like a part of the action.

At 7:17 you mention that it's a wierd feeling to be able to keep up so many starports actively producing, but I think the proportions of time to money make it somewhat comparable to like reactors in general considering the cost of like reactored hellions to like the time they spend being built. Edit 34:30 you can see an observer cross the middle of the screen.

I take offense on the thought that penguins are too expensive! they are the ultimate air superiority fighter that can also land in a pinch and support a ground fight, or even harrass. The only other Air superiority fighter that competes with it is the phoenix, and at parity of gas expenditure the vikings win any engament even if the combat starts at firing range for the phoenix. With any more hp they will be even decent on ground engagements and that will make them absurdly overpowered :P

If uthermal calls your moves psycho, thats definitely a good thing. Its like a term of respect and endearment lol Using a medicac with scvs in it to go with your air army to repair would be sick. Especially with a BC build. have them teleport into the enemy base and then when they get low hp, fly nearby with the medivac and repair them bitches up. Could be cool. Would really push your micro to the max to micro scvs from a medivac and repair air army :D. Plus if your medi takes damage, its own crew can fix it. Could add an interesting challenge! You could also use scvs to build turrets across the map as well as an air fall back. Sort of how you use mines as a defensive to fall back on. Either way good video as always, Thanks Marc :)

what i find interesting when talking about good probe harassment at 22:50 i think maybe a large portion of these little thing is not so much the loss off minerals but the flow of gameplay. a few seconds later had to wait to have enough minerals to place the factory, id imagine if you've practised a build order to the second,a significant disruption in that could really mess up the mindset of a player. so maybe this early very early harassment is more to tilt the opponent rather than economical damage. I'm saying this without any knowledge of playing and high level SC2 gameplay, just as a thought that occurred to me whilst watching.

Here's my thoughts, you are given 5 unit of supply t oearly defend in the best way you see fit, you can replace them up until, like the 10 minute mark, with no need ot kill them. Meaning... You could get... 5 marines / 2 marines 1 tank / 3 marines 1 marauder. anythign that adds up to 5 unit supply for early defence. Totally fine with that but it is just an opinion... lol

might just be me, but i enjoy series like this because i get to see you win with the sky terran unit comp. What isn't so satisfying is watching you get hard countered by cheese before you have a chance to get going. So i think 5 marines on the battle field is great, and so is a tank or two per base, but maybe dont use them to attack your opponent and the spirit of the series remains.

Some people say allowing extra units defeats the purpose of the challenge, but to specifically prevent cheese loss, I'd say as long as your X amount of marines and X amount of tanks never leave your base and solely function as initial defense is perfectly acceptable - just like your one Reaper is solely for scouting and minor harassment.

Personally, I think you should only make an adaptation rather than a rule. 1 Reaper - 5 rine should be ok vs normal comps, but adapt to cheeses by keeping at 5 rines until your army starts. That way you have plenty of hold until you don't need them anymore. Since you are able to identify cheese almost all the time, it shouldn't be such a bad thing to superficially adapt to that cheese by adding more marines.

Hello uThermal, out of curiousity, is there a reason you dont deny tech more often? That way they need to rebuild certain buildings to remake others and deny the upgrades? especially with you speed banshees which to my knowledge do really good vs buildings anyways.

Agreed. There are so many times he can destroy a robo facility/bay to reset the Protos ability to counter him. Sometimes he leaves easy kill zerg tech standing too. Meanwhile he fairly consistently destroys terran reactors and tech labs, which don't cripple the tech path as badly. In this video one protos has an ultra artosis pylon powering the entire main and he let it live. Thermy, snipe more buildings!

I've wondered this also when even something like a spawning pool when the opp is countering his marines with banelings. I mean against zerg I guess the larva is just saved up and once it gets rebuilt and the other units are built it's not really any different, but if there is a constant pressure or something than it could cause delay and potentially even confusion?

Here's an interesting challenge. Do a challenge check list in a game. Doesn't matter how you do it but the goal is to do all the challenge in the check list in 1 game. For example 1 proxy rack, 2 snipe a base with cyclone drop, 3 mass nuke 3 or more. And so on.

I think the limit should be 5 army supply of anything at any time through the games and to mainly use them for defense (basically if you need certain units to survive; not to win the game). That way there will be less default losses and the games should be more entertaining imo.

Certainly while defending all-in cheese's I'd be fine with the 'up to 5 marines at a time' rule. It would feel a bit weird if you were using them out on the map to attack.

Honestly I think making tanks and PF's is totally fair to get the the air armada, because sky Terran is the idea of making the Terran fleet, not losing to 15 marines because liberators and banchee's can't kill them lol Its totally fair to have a few ghosts and ravens also, because why wouldn't you? You have a full army of BC's and a few spellcasters for full strength. Basically I want to see skyterran to the absolute full potential of the playstyle. Like how you see mech players do everything from a bio start to switch over, I would say making a few units to make it viable is totally the same idea

ill tell you my rule when i play sky terran. i make enough to fill my bunkers. sometimes i get the bunker upgrade and make 2 bunkers. I hope we get to see you make a wall with a PF + tank + liberators towers and bunker with scvs on auto repair so you can rotate harassing BCs and ravens to that spot.
