Really good design, great materials, but i have some concerns about safety of handling , and accidentally closing, going on strong cuts specifically. Also 300 is not a fair price for me. I will pass....

Exactly. Looks good. That's it.

You’re probably thinking of the Benchmade 7505. It was a Sibert design. It’s a version of his Pocket Rocket. It is actually a dual action knife. It could be opened manually or automatically by moving the titanium portion of the scale. They were a Gold Class knife they released in two versions. There was a CF version and a green G10 version. I think they made 100 CF and 1000 G10.

I remember some knives back in the 2000's that worked like this, but I like this styling more than those. Might need to pick one up.

The Protech Magic is the first auto I've ever seen open that way

Nice looking knife with what appears to be good ergonomics. Not a fan of autos and really hate the "just squeeze back" and it flies open. I'm not about to pay $300 to cut myself. Thanks for another thoughtful review.

I got a Protech Magic 2 from American Edge Knives and I love the hidden bolster. Its nice other companies bringing the hidden bolster design to compete. Check out their shop! Great dudes

Very nice. I have semi-custom Spyderco Vallotton lil Sub-hilt with d/a conversion. Best Spyderco in my collection.

Pro-Tech did this years ago with the magic whiskers.

Aaron why have u never reviewed a sebenza or any other CRK knives? I got my first sebenza 31 large in magnacut and the quality is second to none.

Its similar to Protech Magic Whiskers. I believe the scale on that slides forward and back rather than sise to side.
@barrybueler335620 күн бұрын
Think I’ve seen something like this before but it’s just the top part of the scale that moves aside. Definitely different but not for me along with the looks but to each his own and I do like the steel choice.

That's a Bolster lock. The concept has been around for years. Pretty cool idea though, especially when it's done well.

Beautiful knife. It's that 3.25 that kills it AGAIN. 3.5 is my minimum. Why is everything so small lately? Does anyone know?😊

Cobratec makes like 5 different knives like this. Super cool, i own one that a similar size, uses the bolster to open.
@terryf.2620119 күн бұрын
Microtech used this on an automatic/Manuel LCC (only the bolster was used).

I believe ProTech has a model called whiskers but back to design $300 wow thank goodness I already purchased my Grail in the beginning of January ProTech TR 2 Auto in Magnacut.

I have a CRKT knife that opens odd One scale pushes forward along with the blade then pull it back locking the blade and scales Liner lock

I've seen the pivot bolster release an auto , but not the scale. Have you tried it left handed? I don't prefer autos or otf's. I'm old school, fixed blade or manual open without spring assist.
@mannywilliams640919 күн бұрын
So, it's something like the BOKER MATIC but instead of the spring retracting the blade it opens it.

I wonder if this would make it through Canadian border security. Would make a cool “if you can’t open this knife you owe me 5$” knife

Cool blade but not for 300 bucks. And I could almost see a lot of accidental pocket openings with that handle but like you said, neat party trick.

not for me. It's a little gimmicky and I'm getting a little Magnacut fatigue for most knives and users.

This seems like the exact same thing as the protech magic 2 designed by Whiskers that’s been out for years. Is this made by protech? I have the magic 1 that is a little different since it’s just the bolster you move to deploy.

@gregblake276419 күн бұрын
He said $300. They're trying to compete with Benchmade on their ridiculous pricing.
