The 4K from my X-T2 is sharper than anything that I have seen from any smartphone. The 24MP sensors from Fuji are excellent.
@billb826213 күн бұрын
To be fair, the 16MP from the X-T1 has something special in its rendering and is also excellent. I just photographed baseball last weekend and the AF, while good enough, did miss quite a few shots. However, it's also the oldest of their AF technology and still got the job done. Newer Fuji bodies just do even better. I have (2) X-T1 bodies and several lenses that I will not part with. I don't love the dials versus a DSLR, but I'm growing to use them much more efficiently with time. I'm just so impressed with the output of Fuji cameras that I'm no longer looking at Full Frame versus APS-C/M43. Fuji's APS-C do great and have clean files even at ISO 6400. And the X-T1 can be had for just a few hundred dollars US.

I have an infrared converted X-H1 which I bought recently for £420 which is great fun as a monochrome camera. The XH1 was a buggy camera when it came out. Then the Sony A7iii and lumix G9 came out. Tough competition at about the same price. About six months later Fuji released the XT3 which on several levels is a better camera. Sales plunged and the camera with the battery grip went on sale. With the firmware updates, unlike the XH2, the XH1 performance improved. I bought a XH1 recently for $600. This camera doesn’t get used very much by me. I do street photography. The body is relatively large and heavy. For this application I prefer the XT30 and XS10. A minor quibble. I don’t like that the screen on the top plate can’t be turned off. I left the battery in the body and after a two week hiatus it was drained. Solution: take the battery out of the camera when not in use. I’m a fan of the exposure compensation dial on the top plate that this body lacks. Many people buy the battery grip with this body. It holds an additional two batteries. Of course this makes the body bigger and heavier. This is a good body. It suffered from the premature release and introduction of some good cameras from other manufacturers and Fuji itself close to the XH1 release. As a hybrid camera this is a good choice. The XS10 and XS20 IBIS enabled video centric bodies should also be considered. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

The top screen is electronic ink that only draws a current when switching to a different state and therefore does not drain the battery. Your battery went flat for other reasons.

Great camera. Took it and a TTA 25 2.0 to the beach after a storm a while back and was pleasantly surprised at how well the combo worked. They make a great couple. Another surprise was discovering earlier this year that even today, the XH-1 landed in the top five for images chosen by voters in one of the more popular on line photo mags. It may have a hand grip, but with a pancake it's still small enough to fit in a coat pocket and light enough to shoot all day long, but don't forget to bring batteries. I got mine for a song after the Sony release drove the price down and a year later the price went up again after Fuji's popularity skyrocketed. Go figure. Thanks for the drop!

@matthieuzglurg601513 күн бұрын
I would agree that the X-H1 is one of the few "underpriced" Fujifilm cameras. However, don't underestimate teh X-H1's little brother, the X-T2. It's basically the same camera without IBIS, it's smaller and cheaper to boot. You still have dual card slots, large viewfinder, dual axis tilt screen, full manual controls with retro dials, same burst rate, same 4K video with F-Log, same sensor, everything. You also still have ability to use a vertical grip for it. Bonus points, the X-T2 has better microphone pre-amps than the X-H1, delivering a warmer sound with less background hiss noise, allowing to push them further than the X-H1's I had both for a couple of years, the H1 as my main camera to shoot gigs and video (also my personal camera for landscape work and all of that), and the X-T2 was my backup camera that could do everything the H1 could, in a smaller package if I didn't need the IBIS. I sold the X-H1 for a Nikon Z6 (another terrific value by the way, selling the X-H1 and buying the Z6, I GAINED money) and kept the X-T2. No regrets.
@N0rdman13 күн бұрын
The images you showed us taken with the X-H1 looks to me much clearer and with more contrast that the newer camera. It looked like some extra layer taking away micro sharpness and making the distinct blackness sort of be dulled down, a little like old film being damaged by light leak to me. Viewed on a 70" 4K screen.

Instead of buying new gear, I save my money and invest in my photography skills by buying books and attending workshops.
@martingreenberg87013 күн бұрын
As both the XE2S and XT2 lack IBIS the kit 18-55 lens is a good idea. It is fast at the wide end but quickly goes to f4. This lens has good optical image stabilization. It is inexpensive at ~$300 used. Plus is plenty sharp enough. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
@problemat1que11 күн бұрын
@@martingreenberg870 The 18-55 doesn't go to F4 until above 40mm, so it makes a very capable and sharp "bag of primes" at F32. for 20 to 30mm and F3.6 from 30 to 40mm, which includes the all-important 23mm F3.2, 27mm F3.2, and 33mm / 35mm F3.6 focal lengths. I decided to couple it with the xf 33 1.4 that is an unbelivable lens, yes it’s expansive but i preferred to save with the camera body and buyng only one lens than payng more for the body or buy 2-3 cheaper lenses. H-h1 is really a camera you can trust, the battery life is not great to say the least but it’s fixable with an extra battery, it wasn’t worth it to spend 3 times as much for the body just to get some more shots from the battery. Hey! I’m a beginner looking to buy my first camera, and I’m torn between the Fujifilm X-S20, X-H2, and X-T5. I’m mainly into street photography, portraits, and landscapes, but I’d like to try some casual vlogging, and eventually learn some videography too. I love the retro design and manual controls of the X-T5, but the X-S20 seems more practical for video with a fully articulated screen. Then there’s the X-H2, which looks like it could handle both photo and video well. My priorities are great colors straight out of the camera (so I don’t have to edit too much) and something that will grow with me as I get more into both photography and videography. Any advice on which model might be best for me? Thanks so much!

@markwiemels12 күн бұрын
Yes, lots, punch in and focus peaking work really well.
@problemat1que11 күн бұрын
The X-H1 has two manual focus assist functions, digital split image, which emulates an SLR split prism where the image appears split and lines up where it is focused, and focus peak highlight, which shows dots outlining contrast areas that are in focus. For better visibility, you can select different colors and different sensitivities for focus peak highlights. These manual focus assists are available both on the back screen and in the viewfinder, and work particularly well for highly accurate focus when combined with a magnified view, for which two different magnification factors are available. Very complete and versatile suite of manual focusing tools that were being developed for three generations of Fujifilm cameras already by the time the X-H1 came out.
@phantomzero241310 күн бұрын

Although my friend finally got me to start using the rear screen more I’m still much more comfortable behind the viewfinder having started photography on 35mm film.
