Thank you for sharing the true, raw emotion of your journey. REAL life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Yo Ben, I've been following Kombi Life since the early break down days in Costa Rica ... it was raw, honest without thought to marketing and/or "branding". I admire the work you put into your posts and the quality of the video that has improved so much. It's a great channel and I'm so glad you are sharing again on KZbin. I'd like to be part of the Kombi Crew, but things are tight right now and I still appreciate that you share with all those who love your adventure but may not have the means to financially support it beyond likes and shares on social media. Leah has to leave for visa purposes, and while heart wrenching I can't help but feel that you're boosting the dramatic content because of commercial pressures and following a certain formula. It's visible, and a well worn path to increase viewership. This may sound so negative, but in a very competitive market space of "van Lifers" I understand the need to stand out. I'm not trying to be harsh, it is the content game that must be played. I guess what I'm trying to say is, forget the click bait headlines, forget the latest "trending content" and remember why most people watch, it truly is an epic adventure, a great story and maybe a great love story or not (OK Alaska stole my heart from the beginning), but follow your heart. Remember you built your subscriber ship by being genuine and honest and people will always connect with that.

After 21 years in the Airline business, I believe you can do ANYTHING if you have effective management ....Effective Management of passion, Ideas , resources and energy... and you can Fly , go to Space, talk on a tiny cell phone ...navigate all over the world with a push of the button -the sky is the limit ! The only way I have seen Management become Effective is when you have a "Kombi-nation" of management wrapped in Love. I have marvelled at your patients and ability to make Peace ...I have watched all your videos ( the stickers you sent are all over my "98 4 runner) ... My parents owned a Microbus (eng blew up!) in the 1960s , my brother owned a '59 commercial Micro bus, my first Flight instructor ran his flying business out of a micro bus ...I owned a nice '70 with dual dellortos as well ... I was going to take it to Alaska and become a bush pilot ! I dindt have the patients and went on to other things.... By the way, I grew up in San Diego ! ...Your tenacity is amazing and I think Leah has brought you new challenges and troubles- HOWEVER with such things you will go on to a much greater next step ...and Leah appears to be able to give you everything you could want in a Woman -and more. One of the commenters mentioned that a side trip to Oz would be very productive... Getting away from your (wonderful) Parents and getting back on the road for a bit might be just the thing to put things "right"??? She appears to be quite worthy of the investment ... give her a spotlight and I would think she would return it with Gold. -btw, please forgive all this unsolicited advice ... I love you guys

I think the hardest bit of all, is to make a show of your intimate life. Like "ok so you're breaking up with me, hold it, let's film it and put sad music next to it" - am sure it's not that harsh and cynical but at the end of the day that's pretty much what it is - I guess there's no other way to do, it does create tension, suspens, viewers etc, but it must be tough.

FYI that refrigerator is going to freeze food you don't want frozen against the back wall and anything you put in the door will be sitting at about 55 degrees and will spoil. You will have to insulate the compartment with foam board,,,all sides, at least 1" thick, and then drape an insulated cloth over the front while you drive. Also make sure to keep the back of the unit in an open area, do not put this inside under a shelf, it will get too hot and not cool well at all. Also you better keep a good back up battery for starting the engine, because the fridge will murder you batteries while you sleep.
