Wait... did Andy kill all of the adventurers? He grapples and drags the first one into the river. His fashionable Kobold convinces the halfling to take the minecart. I think his wise Kobold closed the bridge, killing the dragonborn? And The Forgiving throws the stone that kills the elf. He is the Kobold spirit of death.

There’s a reason he’s the DD of the group.

@ArDeeMee4 ай бұрын
@@ApetureTestSubject Not that kind. Damage dealer. ;D Merilwhen is CC: Crowd control. Dob is support: Buffs, heals, and damage. Prudence and Corazon are DD: All damage, all day. And quite often psychic damage to their DM. Egbert is the tank: Draw aggro/attention, and protect the party. Unless Mike rolls a 6, then he summons the mushroom goddess. Johnny usually plays DDs, f.e. Rust on the Harbor.

@@ArDeeMee Ah, okay. I just didn't know what DD meant. But yeah, Corazon being able to Sneak Attack you to your face does usually hit pretty hard. And now, as various Kobolds, he has an even higher kill count.

Yesss my favourite one-shot has received the CaitlinRC treatment ^_^
@CaitlinRC5 ай бұрын
Any kobold oneshots will receive the treatment :) Tbh the amnesia ones and the battle royale won't be getting the same treatment. (Battle royale cause even the oxventure gang didn't really enjoy it) (amnesia special felt like an interesting premise but more fun to be a part of then to watch, tho Sullivan is a great player and i enjoy all the no rolls barred stuff) Might do the skeletons one shot? Not sure

Fair; the Amnesia one has such a unique premise and feels so storyful that it kind just needs to be experienced : )

I like the premise of D&D battle royale and there have been some very cool ones in the past (I do enjoy the Critical Role Level 17 one because it has great tension and drama with characters running from the party druid in dragon form) but I feel unfortunately it's really only fun for the mechanically oriented games and still ends up with half the players sitting there either cheering or doing nothing until the last two characters can slug it out. I applaud the Oxventurers for giving it a go but for theater of the mind RP focused games, I can't see it working generally due to all the possible squabbles (things like whether a character really is in range of a certain spell or effect for instance). Kobold oneshots are and will always be the best though I'm disappointed they didn't form up in a trench coat and pass themselves off as an ordinary human with their small child approximately 2/3 of their height.

@@consolescrub4031 "Three Kobolds in a Trenchcoat" actually exists as like a one-page TTRPG and it would make my entire week if Oxventure decided to play it ^_^ (Having played it myself, can highly recommend, it was one of the funniest one shots I've ever been in)

Loved this episode! Haven't laughed this much in ages:D By the way, I wonder if in the new season they'll still be making fun of Elves and Druids, or just start pick on whatever character Ellen makes next:)
@consolescrub40315 ай бұрын
My guess would be a bit of both assuming Ellen plays the 'straight man' of the group again. Elves and druids are easy to make fun of (I say as someone who has played both and enjoys making fun of them regularly) but you also have to poke a bit of fun at the sensible side of the party when it isn't you. (Maybe it was the setting but I would note in Blades in the Dark for example, Lilith was on the weirder side of the party and thus there weren't as many easy opportunities to make fun of her compared to Edvard. (Or Barnaby although that was a large part of his character.))
@sebastianwlodarczyk5 ай бұрын
@consolescrub4031 Oh yeah, fair point about the BITD campaign (though I feel like both Edvard and Barnaby were both created with a purpose to be make fun of)! I was thinking more about the the original Oxventure and the Deadlands, where some of the jokes seemed to be constructed around "how can we get an exasperated sigh from Ellen":) I might be imagining things, but she seems like the one most likely person to go into actual roleplay, and at times, the rest of the gang is trying to reel her back to comedy. Either way, it's a treat to watch, and I can't wait to see what will they come up with next:)
@consolescrub40315 ай бұрын
@@sebastianwlodarczyk I can see your point and I agree there although I feel Deadlands was also a case of Ellen playing the straight man again with a recognisable career, tragic backstory and no overly weird traits compared to Luke, Mike and Johnny's characters. It might be something about how they tend to create their respective characters (although Nate was about as far from Kasimir as one could possibly get). Maybe I'm reading too much into it but you'll notice I didn't include Jane on that list and that's because I feel her characters are generally a bit less ridiculous for the sake of being ridiculous and she doesn't seem to make as many jokes about Ellen's character as the others might. She also seems to have fairly exasperated reactions to some of the humour displayed so it wouldn't surprise me if some of the more "mature" jokes were partially to mess with her (along with Ellen's puns). It might be a player personality thing which, unless someone wants to mix things up significantly, would likely result in one of the two playing the straight man to Luke and Mike's shenanigans again but it's hard to tell how much of the person is in the character. (I feel a pretty good explanation of what I'm trying to say is to just look at the OXtra GTA races where Luke goes for spectacle over strategy and Ellen takes the sensible route to victory.)
