I just finished, "Before the coffee gets cold" by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. I thought I wouldn't like it but I got drawn in by its simplicity - straight forward story telling. What I didn't expect was the warm feel good feeling that I received and the neat tie-in of all the characters involved at the end of the book. Highly recommended.

We're going to the Twin Cities in April to (hopefully) watch Shohei Ohtani play against the Twins. Though we're Twins fans in this house, sorry. I hope you have better luck for books published in 2000. It looks like Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain came out in 2000, which I have not read and now I'm looking forward to picking up sometime. As for books I enjoyed that came out that year, based on a quick look at a list on Goodreads, you've got Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire series), Princess Diaries #1, the first two Bridgerton books, Stargirl, plus a couple that I read but didn't really enjoy so I'm not going to name them.
@crazybiogeek10 ай бұрын
Yo, it also looks like you need books for 2013 and 2015, so I humbly suggest Crazy Rich Asians and China Rich Girlfriend- published in those years respectively. And then the rest of Kevin Kwan's books. His writing is HILARIOUS. You gotta read the footnotes cause that's where a lot of the best jokes are. I reread those books on a regular basis because I love them so much.

OHHHMG THATS so fun, i hope you have a great time!!!! ⚾️💙🤍 I didn’t know you also watched baseball :D I will start with these suggestions for 2000, thank you SO much this is for real so helpful 💗💗

OHHH okay i will ALSO read those for those yearly vlogs, too!! I think i listened to the audiobook for CRA and will try out a physical copy : )) THANK YOUU

@@tiachu I'm not sure all those books have aged well, cause I think Gavin just made a video about how Princess Diaries is more problematic than you remember. But I re-read the whole series a few years ago, and I chalked up the problematic stuff as Mia (the main character) having issues and needing to learn. And we all know the grandma is problematic af, no Julie Andrews in the books. lol
@crazybiogeek10 ай бұрын
@@tiachu and we'd watch more baseball if they showed the Twins in our state on TV, but they don't, which is really stupid of them. Who's gonna drive 4.5 hours to a game? They could be making ad revenue instead of totally shutting us out.
