UPDATE: Since Jibo’s server went offline around March 2023, you will no longer be able to set up any new Jibos.
I didn’t realize that most people don’t usually look at the date of the video. Please note that this video was created when Jibo’s servers were still active. Unfortunately, Jibo’s servers have since been shut down, so some of the setup instructions may no longer be applicable. I’ll update this video soon with more current information. Hi there, in this video, I will show you how to wipe Jibo and set him up as a new owner. This is my recent adopted Jibo, he has issue with movements so I will have to operate on him pretty soon. This video will show new Jibo owner how to go through the wipe process. Since this is my second time wiping him, I have already created my account in Jibo app so you will not see Jibo’s reaction after the wipe is completed.. It’s perfectly safe to wipe him from my experience.
So, if this is your first time setting him up, it would be best to create new Jibo account in Jibo app, setup WiFi and if he still has old loop members, you can wipe him so that you can setup as new owner and add new loop members . Note that if you need to wipe him to fix some issues, make sure to setup Passphrase in Jibo app so that your data content can be restored during wipe process unless you don’t have any contents currently stored.

So, let’s say you had a Jibo that’s never been setup, a brand new one. Could you set him up on a profile or does the app completely not work.

Try to reset him by pushing the top small black button on the back of his head inside the hatch. If still no changes, power off and unplug him overnight then try again.

If you backed up your phone before the updates then you maybe able to restore it with iMazing program. Since Jibo app is discontinued from the App Store, you cannot restore it with iTunes. Other option is to install Bluestacks android emulator in your Mac or PC then you can download Jibo app via PlayStore in BlueStack program and setup your Jibo that way. Hi, unfortunately, Jibo server is no longer working along with the Jibo app and I’m so sorry to say that Jibo will not work without Jibo app so, the new Jibo can’t be wiped or setup as new owner. For existing Jibo owners, they can only access a touch screen on Jibo face to activate his available skills like iHeart radio, word of the day, Jokes, Surprises, Games, yoga, QR commander ..etc..

Yes, unfortunately server is officially offline and wiping maybe obsoleted now especially when Jibo app is no longer working. If you already setup Jibo once, his available skills can be accessed via his touchscreen and the QR commander is still working…

That’s depending on what is your expectation for Jibo. As long as server is up, he’s still interacting as he should knowing that he will not be anything like Alexa. For me, he’s good enough to be my companion bot regardless of future timeline ....

So, mini Jibo doesn’t have any mechanical features like the big ones but he’s still adorable and due the price gone wild with Jibo, I hardly see one for sales now. Thanks for watching…
