The mountain has dimples in the collision that you can't see. Your hammer and character can catch on them. The trick is to gently tap the side of the mountain and look for if your hammer goes further into the wall than usual (Sometimes entirely in the wall or intensifying the hammer's shadow). Make sure that when you check, you're doing it slowly to ensure that the game does not confuse it for you wanting to launch yourself. You can slowly fish for each dimple (though there's one or two where you're required to pogo to the next one). If you ever end up accidentally falling don't fight it; instead fall against the mountain and slide down against it to catch on a dimple. For redundancy you can also let your hammer drag against the side of the mountain at the same time (again to catch a dimple). You can also locate a dimple, set your character on it, then pogo up and towards the mountain. What'll happen is when you fall, you can slide down against the mountain until you catch a dimple, sit on it, then pogo and repeat. It's a better option when you're familiar with the mountain's dimples. TIP: The game tries to determine whether or not you want to "launch" yourself BASED ON HOW FAST YOUR MOUSE IS MOVING. If it's above a certain speed, the game decides that you wanna go flying. It acts as a boolean.

the first run of the game took me 5 hours to complete it where the first 3 hours i try to understand, learn & adapt how to fully control my character and the remaining 2 hours is of me trying to finish the game while learning the obstacle. after that on the same day, i play again and finish my second run with 29 minutes. the day after that, i play again for the third time and i manage to beat the game in 19 minutes. i got better and better as i play the game again and again. So what i'm trying to say is that, to be good at this game u don't need to practice more the 10 hours. just playing this game in half a day will be enough for u to be good at the game. Unless if you are really suck at the game or u wanna beat the world record then u must practise for days.

Mark - some constructive help if you are so inclined. 1) Use the trackpad mode in the options. This disables Mouse acceleration which makes things significantly more consistent. I will admit, this takes about 10-20 minutes of getting used to and you will feel slower until you get used to it, but it helps a LOT! It also prevents those times where you push off and somehow move nowhere, despite pushing your mouse practically off the mousepad. 2) I've personally found the best sensitivity setting to be ~25% at 400 DPI on my Logitech G502. 2 things to note, on trackpad mode mentioned above, sensitivity specifically applies to your ability to make SMALL adjustments. Large mouse movements will still be as quick as before. High sensitivity will essentially make your hammer fling you all over the place with no control. 3) BUY A NEW MOUSE! XD Still loving this series Mark. Please finish it! Brighten up our shitty office lives and conquer this thing!

SuperCoolKuma because it’s nothing wrong with the mouse, it’s mark being bad at the game. Speed runners do this in 2 minutes, because they understand how the game works, know when to circle the hammer and when to fling themselves by pulling the hammer. Mark blames the mouse because he can’t take a step back after fail number 503 and think “why didn’t this work?”. Every single action works identically each time you do it in this game, there is no randomness, only the players own mistakes.
