No In depth tutorial is literally one of the main things that make this game so toxic man… there’s people who’ve been playing since ufc 1 using mechanics that’s been in the series for years but theres not a single tutorial on how to do it so you just get beat without knowing how to defend yourself. More than Half of the ground game I had to learn on KZbin bro….

Agreed, I play both, but whenever I play 4 it's just so smooth in terms of animation, leg kicks actually do damage (leg kicks are a huge part of my game in 4) and countering takedowns isn't crazy hard most of the time, you can use uppercuts, knees, front kicks, leg kicks, and side kicks the leg, plus just regularly defending the takedowns ofc. On top of that, specifically kicks look better, in UFC 5 most fighters throw kicks so sloppy, and sometimes the animation just looks like trash. Sorry for talking about kicks so much, they're like my favorite thing lol. But UFC 5 is just nowhere near superior to 4

I know Im nowhere near as good as I was when i played this game during the first two games, and part of 3. But this right here is yet again: another reason why I don't even bother with ranked. The clinch spam, and sub system really needs to go next game. It's terrible, and really annoys me as a real life Martial Artist. I agree that grappling a lot of times is superior in 1v1 cage fights: but to not punish people who recklessly spam is abhorrent. I know the game isn't supposed to be super realistic, but spam really needs more punish. And if I have to spam back, thats not really fun for me. At that point, its better to just play select people: or not at all.

The real question is how this fight spiral out of control and pry had more stamina the whole fight. For one, you're not supposed to be able to double leg bail with a stamina advantage. Second, the submission exploits where he couldn't drain is diabolical cheesing at its best. This game is in trouble. Good work pry.

I used to somewhat enjoy trying to wrestle in 4 but in 5 I can't stand it, pretty much everyone is just a master at denying every single transition, even fakes, in instead of posturing up for ground and pound just spam the small hits you can't block or get out of since they're denying EVERYTHING, that and losing to submissions just because your opponent attempted a submission twice and denied your transitions trying to escape after you pieced them up all match is so frustrating. My favorite matches are the ones where we both mix up striking and actually try to work on the ground, but that just doesn't happen anymore. It's just takedown spammers that lay on you and wait for denials the whole match, or people who abuse the grappling because you're piecing them up on the feet. I pretty much avoid grappling atp because there's just no point in trying to take it to the ground, or trying to out grapple them when they take you down

Landing a straight when someone goes for a clinch should be an instant stun, at least the equivalent damage of a pull counter. Same goes for knees, it would stop so many cheesy styles.

The other day I had a player like that but he used Jon Jones, the only way I could beat him comfortably is with the push of "x" and "A" that completely cancels the grip 1clinch and well the takedowns were not a problem, basically he was wearing himself down the entire fight. (I used Alex Pereira)

I started playing in late game UFC 4 when it became free on Xbox. Honestly I got better at the game because of my love for mma and I had fun growing/learning. I’ve tried hitting div 20 in ufc5 as a personal milestone (I hit div 17) and man it’s just not worth it. It’s literally not fun playing at the high level, no one’s creative or take risk it’s all just meta striker rush down and cheese grappling. I have more success on UFC 4 ranked than UFC 5. I even managed to defend a championship 13 times, and on defense number 13, i didn't even fight. The game froze, and i just waited for my opponent to leave 😅 UFC 5 gameplay feels like UFC 3 at the beginning. As if the game isn't responding well to your input, and you feel like you're trying to move a "statue" of your fighter instead of an actuall fighter
