So sorry to hear about you getting robbed. A traumatic experience, but at least it wasn't taken from you forcibly and you didn't getting injured in the process - better not cashing in on the insurance and being physically safe! I had a pocket knife taken out of my hotel room once (probably by the hotel staff) and I still remember it to this day.

Thank you very much 😉 You are right! Luckily mugging and stuff like that when people get hurt is not common in Europe, but pickpocketing happens very often in all big European cities (the thieves are really experts at it), and we know about it, so it's a shame that we weren't more careful. We are sad about the Marseille footage that is gone, but nothing can be done about it now. We will definitely remember it, just like you your stolen pocket knife. We appreciate your donation 😊

You guys made lemonade from the lemon- camera theft. Interesting and fun memory diary. We love it 😍 😍. In the days b4 mini cameras, we used our excellent big canon camera. We would take our photos, once those were developed, we would cut ourselves🎉 out of the photos and glue them to postcards! They still make us laugh😂🤣 decades later. Well done 👍🏼👏

Oh I live in Marseille next to Parc Longchamp. In your downloaded photos there is actually a pic of me with my son …he’s sitting on my bicycle as I pushed him on boulevard Longchamp. It’s better to visit here off season….never in July or August. Plus with the Olympic Games it was frenetic ! So sorry for what happened to you 😞

Yeah, we were sad because we filmed quite a lot in Marseille, and it's always sad when footage gets lost, or even worse when stolen 😕 We will definitely continue with our videos, and next time we will show at least something that we filmed on our phones. Thanks 😉

Many thanks, we appreciate it 😊 We always have travel insurance on our travels, but it sadly doesn't cover pickpocketing, only break-ins or mugging and stuff like that where force is used 😐

Hi, we are ok 😉 The whole Central Europe was affected, and the amounts of rain were extreme. Luckily it is over now. We filmed a bit about it, but it will take some time until it appears in a video, because we have a lot of footage filmed before this. Thanks for thinking of us.

Thank you very much, we appreciate your help ❤️ The trip was still fun, but it's a shame about the lost footage (the camera can be at least replaced). Pickpocketing is very common in all big European cities (luckily not mugging and stuff like that where people could get hurt) and the thieves are absolute experts at it. We are aware and it still happened to us. Even more of a "No" to crowds for us now 🙄

I’m sorry you lost your camera. I am glad you a safe and sound. Avoid crowds but sometimes there is safety in numbers. I’m inclined to follow Tommy’s instincts though.

I feel for you. I was leaving San Fransisco after a holiday and my camera, with all the film cans of the trip on the strap, was stolen while I was returning my rental car. The whole trip was gone. I hope my gift will help you get a nice, new one. I wear zipper or button pocket pants when I travel now.

We try to be careful on our travels too, and we know that pickpocketing is very common in all the big European cities, but it still happened. The thieves are really experts at it. Sorry to hear about the stolen camera a downside risk of travel. Your description of the kayak beach made me laugh and the bus journey back to Marseille with the fight breaking out. I appreciate how annoying it must have been though. It is interesting to know the good and the bad of traveling and your cost saving tips. Great video even without the video content.

Guys, I know that nothing I can tell you is going to be of any comfort to you and I hope that you can soon recover what you have "lost" but I do want to tell you that when I met you and you were recording with your old camera I already thought you were great and even if you had to do it with your cell phone you would seem just as great to me. There is something about you that is superior to the quality of the images. Congrats to all your suscribers who have the possibility to help you and do so. For some of us, even if we want, that is impossible. Sorry.😢❤

So sorry for your loss, guys.😢 But, what about your insurance ? Or your credit card insurance ? Sometimes we are covered by an insurance and we don't even think about using it.

Hi Lizzie, thank you. We tried claiming it through our travel insurance (that's why we went to the police station to have it reported and documented) but sadly it only covers break-ins and mugging (where force is used), not pickpocketing.

Thank you, though, for deciding to do this video and sharing what happened. The pictures from 2014, you both looked like babies, so young! Not that you don't look great today, because you do! Tommy, that was sweet of you to join Peter in the Mediterranean for a swim. I know he loves you for that.

oh that brought back memories, i lost my camera in Spain some years ago, i am certain it was not theft, i had to have left it in the lobby of the Hotel Sevilla (or possibly at the train station nearby), what upset me was the camara had a place to put on my belt but the pants i was wearing that day did not have a belt and now i have no record of my time in Barcelona and limited proof in Paris

Yes, but sadly there was nothing we could do about it. It's sad mainly because of the lost footage. We tried to enjoy the rest of the vacation anyway, and we will show next time what we filmed with our phones.

Hi Thomas, we were in Slovakia a few weeks ago (Peter's parents' garden with a tiny cabin). We'll be also going to Estonia (hopefully next year). Lyon seemed safe, it's just that pickpockets are in all big European cities (Prague or Bratislava are no exception), and it was an unfortunate situation, we got unlucky 🫤

We usually try to stay away from cities in general and we feel much better in nature, away from people. It's getting worse in western Europe, but as we said Lyon was a pleasant city (except the camera loss).
