This viral mario 64 glitch trick allows you to clip through the wall and skip Bowser in the dark world and bowser in the fire sea using the lblj (lobby backwards long jump) and into the upstairs. Or so it says. This video talks about the viral mario 64 speedrun that keeps appearing on mario tiktok and mario youtube shorts.

Fun fact, the staircase to go to dark world, secret slide and upstairs is actually a slope! Is not actually made of stairs, and because of this it's impossible to blj on them. It's an slope because it would have been too short stairs and the result would have been very glitchy, much more than the stairs going to the basement. Plus, if the stairs are shorter than the wall colissions is not possible to blj neither

you can actually blj on slopes, or i heard of this trick they use in shindou%, called C-Up Hyperspeed

@@ThatOneGuy-np7sz i believe you can't blj in a slope. What you are talking is possible in any sliding surface in any version of the game. Is used rta in TTM in the slide for the 100 coins star and more of a IL strat that is becoming rta viable in HMC in the WfRR star

Fastest TAS run involves Mario going to the vanish cap course and building up a f*ck ton of speed and he opens the moat door. The he goes to the Bowser in the fire sea fight, then goes upstairs and wall kicks on the first frame every time he needs to, slips the endless stairs, then fights Bowser in the sky like normal.

When it's spliced, it is 100% fake. It is 1/0 situation. There is no "kinda" option.

It is possible to skip the first key and go straight to the second key by going through the basement underwater door, but that is TAS only. The world record using this TAS approach is something like 4 minutes 15 or 20 seconds I think. However, it is currently not possible to get upstairs without first getting the second key. At this point, maybe the only way to skip both keys is to somehow find a wrong warp to the final Bowser fight or even the end credits…

Correction: The first Bowser level CAN be skipped. If you use TAS tools to BLJ to the Vanish Cap stage, build up speed on the closest elevators, exit the stage and go through a few parallel universes, you can enter the basement door that needs you to pound the two pillars to remove the water to unlock the Vanish Cap stage in a normal gameplay. But you're right with the second Bowser stage having to be cleared to beat the game! That one is truly unavoidable, TAS or not.

The fastest known way to beat SM64 is around 4 mins 15 sec , anything else is just fake. The strategy involves going to the vanish cap course, getting -3M speed and touching the death barrier to preserve that speed, using it to go to parallel universes to open the underwater "moat door" to access the basement, then doing the side BLJ to go to BitFS, getting the key to upstairs then doing a final BLJ to skip "50 star door" and "infinite stairs" then defeating bowser after BiTS

Fun fact: It is actually possibly to skip the first bowser with tas using the underwater door, but it requires an outside BLJ to get into vanish cap, and using it and some more BLJs to literally travel to parallel universes just to enter that one door. You forgot the asterisk that the first bowser fight is actually skippable, since the 1 key TAS exists. It is real, and with the right emulator, you can even run the TAS yourself and prove to yourself it's actually possible.

I barely know much of TAS speedruns but even I can tell that that is not the layout of the castle and Mario would have to be way higher to go straight into the stairs I also did not know that the door didn’t work unless you actually opened it
