Can recommend this AI as well. Was looking for one that supports Fortran, Matlab, Python, C and Ada, as needed one that I can use with multiple different projects, and I admit while I have encountered it making quite a bit of floaws and sometimes just rewriting the same mistake, as said in the video it is aimed to help speed up, which it definitely does. I would even recommend this for people wanting to start learnign different codes. As with this I feel like I can pickup anothe rporogramming language and learn it through debugging and problem solving.

seems like a pretty great code companion especially for beginners like me. wish i knew about this before i spend 100 bucks on a year of copilot ^^ (not that copilot is bad by any means, it's awesome and helping me a lot)

The free version is not realy free. You have to pay with telemetry data. I haven't analyzed in detail, what data the VSCode extensions wants to collect though...

I signed up and installed the VS Code extension. Apparently the Chat doesn't work if you have telemetry turned off. It tells you to use the paid "Teams" version. I need to dig in further to see if this actually the case.

lol, same exact problem co-piilot has. I am super excited for all the AI-trained developers to catch up to where I am at in 3 years and use AI to fix my buggy code. I admit, I haven;'t kept up with the AI craze, but I am just shocked of the trillions being invested into AI technology that literally is feeding us deprecated answers. As of my last update, the latest version of C# is C# 10.0, which was released alongside .NET 6 in November 2021. C# 10.0 introduces several new features and improvements such as global using directives, file-scoped namespaces, and improvements in lambda expressions, among others. However, it's important to check the official Microsoft documentation or their website for the most current version, as new versions or updates might have been released after my last update.

Tried Claude 3.5 The chat conversations are so limited, that any codes I built got stuck and I couldn't retrieve them as conversation length was too long. Paid version had same problem. And one conversation stream has no idea what another conversation stream is doing, making whatever I created Locked and essentially gone forever. Claude is basically a clever toy with a very short attention span.

I asked him to generate some unit test, it just stay frozen "Collecting relevant context and reviewing lines 1 - 8 in labeled-value.component.html". For some angular services, I ask to generate some unit tests, it generates it with the wrong framework(jasmine/karma instead of jest), I told it to use jest, it confirms it but rewrite the whole thing with jasmine. Unusable.

Codeium uses their own models; likely why they can offer this for free - but if you want to use GPT-4 for chat, you can if you upgrade from free.

The code generation is based on their own AI model and does not use any version of GPT. The chat feature however uses both, their own proprietary chat model as well as ChatGPT 3.5 for the free version and ChatGPT 4.0 for the paid $12/month model.
