as someone who has forced herself to watch the whole anime up to this point, i can say it is honestly one of the most draining things i have ever done. the episodes arent even a full 23 minutes theyre more like 17 minutes due to those weird "reccomended video" segments at the end of each episode yet I dont think it has ever been harder for me to sit through an anime. it's feels so choppy and dragged out. 11 episodes in out of 12 and only now have we actually gotten the full cast. but yeah we can spend a whole episode dedicated to them playing a RPG instead of moving along with the story.

He's not talking about making it into an idol anime, but rather take the concept similar to Oshi no Ko and instead of talking about the Japan entertainment industry as a whole, and actually portraying the industry of VTubing itself. At the end of the day, the show is bland and that's main reason why it's not well-received. Pretty sure it would be very well-received if the show manage to make the interactions between characters interesting and the show itself fun to watch- just imagine Bocchi the Rock, but with VTubing instead of music and band for example.

What can I see on supposed direction to lean into will be taking same approach like iDOLM@ster series in shorter but right to the point character development along with explaining through story in what the struggles being faced in doing such profession but with massive take of sugar-coating to bring good facade to promote about it, instead taking same approach like Oshi No Ko which literally is anti-idol anime.

I never said to do it one-to-one like how Oshi no Ko's approach of laying bare of even the shady stuffs behind the scene things as well, but just to simply have the story setting done for Vtubing in a believable, superficial way. I think when OP use "Oshi no Ko" as reference, what he really meant is probably closer like "Bakuman" about the manga industry, with fiction stories and characters that are believable, and still with serious matters that are involved in the actual industry but minus the mentioning anything that could be considered too controversial or shady. Also when I use Bocchi the Rock as an example, I don't meant to make a copy of the show itself, but rather on the delivery/execution side in terms of the interaction between the characters (which is what make the show fun to watch)- something which this show failed to do at epic level.

For Anime watchers this show is indeed pretty boring and not really worth to watch, but in the other hand, from Vtuber fans point of view, their move to makes the whole season anime to advertising their vtuber debut, is pretty amazing tbh. Usually vtuber debut is just some vtuber singing a cover and their original song or some video about their lore character.

They're really makes a "conversation with Anime" to another level. But unfortunately, Anime watchers didn't catch their intention because the Anime quality is bad, not just they can't attract them to watch their vtubers, they also get a bad reviews from them.

unfortunately, 3d performances in anime isn't as unique of a concept that a lot of people think it is. a lot of anime adaptions of rhythm games do the same thing. take ensemble stars' anime for example, when the characters perform they perform with their 3d models (albeit the performances are straight ripped from the game).

I'm neutral about the whole NFT thing, and I don't hate the anime, but the show does feel lacking to me. 1. There are two VTuber animes that I know of. This, and Virtual-san wa Miteiru. I watched the other one back when I only knew Kizuna Ai. You could say that Virtual-san's episodes were kind of a mess. One moment you're watching Sora and Sister Claire, the next you're watching Mito interview someone. It's more of a collection of short videos that are unrelated to the other segments on each episode. However, the VTubers who participated in Virtual-san had more personalities in their performance vs the Kizuna Alllele girls. I watched them both hoping to see Kizuna Ai. Virtual-san dragged down the rabbit hole. Allele is just another anime I watch weekly. I watched Virtual-san without prior knowledge of the cast because I thought Ai was the center of the plot. But I still enjoyed that one more. 2. If Kizuna Ai disappeared, it might have been a good sub plot that Miracle is quietly investigating what happened to her and is actively searching for answers to find her. 3. So, where's Ai? I really only watched, hoping she would be in the actual anime.

It is literally most Aikatsu episodes where they have a song performance, where the songs are performed with 3D animation rather than 2D like the rest of the episode. That is also one of the criticisms levelled at the show, in that it feels like a bland rip off of Aikatsu and lots of other idol shows out there. They could have done much more with the show, given it is dealing with VTubers, but it falls heavily into the "Not Another Idol Show" category
