Being a semi truck driver normally the front axle lifts and rear axle has a dump option. Reason for front axle to lift would be to limit tail swing at the rear of the trailer. But for your application having the rear axle lifting is just fine cause you aren’t backing into tight spaces in truckstops or customers

The irrigation well my father had drilled in 1941 is 125 ft deep with 16 inch caseing ,screened in the sand profile and solid the rest . Specs 28 inch drill hole ,16 inch caseing ,gravel around the bore hole to the.casing and then 8 in pump column with the pump on the bottom with line shaft to the top and driven by a gas engine ( now natural gas) and still pumping 800 gallons per minute today. I was told it took one month to drill and develop this well
@chrissyfrancis89522 ай бұрын
I’ve seen ppl build water filters from river rock, charcoal & sand that works so well they turn pond water clear. So, yes the large grain sand around the screen makes sense. It acts as a pre filter trapping sediment smaller then the sand grains.

Wow that GPM for the new well is impressive. I just built my own house and my well ended up being 325ft(that’s shallow for where I’m at in Montana) and it’s rated at 75gpm which is pretty unheard of for a 6” casing. I had to put a culligan water treatment system in though because our water is really hard. I’m glad it worked out well for you guys

Very nice trailer, shiny, pretty, lots of lights, but Dougo forgot the surround sound speakers. 😀 If you're hitting the water table at 85 feet, I'd say that's a win. Deeper might be better, might not increase your gallons per minute, but it should increase the availability of water and allow you to keep the well pump higher up from the bottom of the well. I'm in northern Arkansas, my well is 265 feet deep, mostly through limestone. The pump is at 245 feet. I haven't had a problem with the well going dry, and I've been in my house for 32 years.
@Racheluvsme2 ай бұрын
It’s not how deep you are it’s the flow through the material. Water doesn’t flow through sand well at all.
@lindanelson84002 ай бұрын
@Racheluvsme I see, around here you get down just a little, and they're drilling through limestone the rest of the way. I have a casing in my well. It's solid steel and only goes down twenty feet. Knock on wood. The only issue I've had was many years ago, the check valve just above the pump failed. The well had to be pulled to fix it.

Titan Trailers- "Strength Through Innovation"
@DouglasYoung-tx8xf2 ай бұрын
The reason they left the front axle instead of the back axle is so when you lift it, it throws more weight on the tractor and makes the truck rod better with that longer wheelbase. That’s why they do the front axle over the rear axle lifting.

In europe, where trailer axls are more forward on most 13.6meter trailers a rear lift isn't common, but it's used. Creates more tailswing, which with our axl placement is bigger anyway. But like you said, it does make for a tighter turn, makes quite the difference too on our standard 3axl trailers. However.. i don't like how it's riding with the last axl lifted, took too much weight of the drive axl, but maybe i had to get used to it.. 😊

You guys are lucky. My well is 400’ with 16” casing. With a small 15 hp variable speed submersable, it will do 250 gpm with no problem. It is used for both domestic and to irrigate my tango oranges. Standing water level is about 165’. Out on the west side of the San Joaquin valley, 800-1000’ are common to get 3500 - 4000 gpm for irrigation.

Be glad you have that much water without having to drill hundreds of feet to reach it. Here in Missouri, the Karst geology & sinkholes allow contaminates to enter the upper groundwater aquifers, so many wells have to be drilled 200+ feet to reach safe water.
@cw937112 ай бұрын
Their water table starts at 10 to 12 feet. Maybe even shallower. It's so shallow there that's why their fields are all wet every time it rains hard.
