I did the same until I gave in and bought my last Hobby Box. I figured, ofI didnt pull Lafrennier, Id look online. BUT I fuckin got him, 3rd pack into it..after Spending over my budget. Over the years, Ive only collected series 1's, but I just had to have Stutzle and figured Id treat myself from time to time and hunt him buying fat packs.....no lies, I pinky swear, I pulled a Stutzle Canvas, perfect corners and all on the FIRST FAT PACK!!! LOL. That's how she goes sometimes, eh? Looking back, the money was worth it. That's what it's all about, the story, the experience...and I got the cards to boot ;) Just thought someone might appreciate this anecdote from a Whole hearted collector.

LOL Brad Marchand! A compilation would be hilarious. Still torn at what spread price the retail series 1 is a better value vs hobby box series 1. Seen the spread as much as 30 dollars at times.

30 is nothing for this box. Worst case you get 6 hobby exclusive inserts, and a French variant nobody. I would say 50 CAD if you’re really stretching it. It’s a lot worse for other stuff, 20-21 Platinum and 19-20 S2 come to mind.

I had a _single box_ of this that had 3 different Lafreniere YGs in it. A regular, a french, and a clear cut. This was less than a week after release, so suffice to say I made bank. I think the clear cut was like $1500 on its own.

That’s what I’ve heard too. Gallant has been pretty hard on rookies and pretty non-chaulante about the kid line breaking them up and putting them back together.

Lafreniere scored his first career pp goal 2 games ago. He has been on pp2 for the majority of his young career and for his first 2 1/2 seasons he was getting about 35 seconds of pp time per pp and his pp time would start after the puck was dumped into the rangers zone. On a worse team where lafreniere wasnt playing behind panarin and kreider he would have many more opportunities to be a big scorer. I dont think lafreniere would be a 50 goal scorer at the moment but certainly would have a more realistic shot at scoring 30. Both david quinn and gallant wouldn't keep either kakko or lafreniere with the top 2 lines for extended periods. Once the top units got shuffled the kids would be relegated for long stretches. Early in this season the kid line as a whole was playing poorly and they didnt get shuffled even though they needed it. Lafreniere has been playing well and chytil really heated up making that line really effective.
