9:59 sorry but let me just get on my soap box for a sec. I’m a teacher of young children and one of the FRIST life lessons I teach is “never get mad on someone else’s behalf” I can’t even count how many times a kid has run up to me saying “Kid A is being mean to Kid B!” And my response is always “well, if Kid B had a problem with what Kid A was doing, they would come and tell me. So it’s not a problem.” It’s the same with adults but honestly even more so! If someone has an issue with another person, let THEM handle it.

i believe the 2.0 update wasn't supposed to happen, but not because all that content was going to be in updates. i just think they shipped an unfinished game because they didn't want to delay it. all or almost all of those features were supposed to be in 1.0 imo, but they were cut sort of early on to be able to release on time. nintendo had release issues before covid but after the game released, the 2.0 update was delayed due to covid. like if they wanted updates to keep the game alive they would have kept up with seasonal items for different years, or had DLC items sort of like the 7-eleven items in new leaf. big things like brewster, kapp'n, and gyroids were expected from the start and were a disappointment when they weren't included, the effect it had on the community to add these in update was just giving us what we thought we were going to have from the beginning. but the quality of life, cooking and HHP are more obvious update items. tldr i believe the 2.0 update was supposed to be smaller, with mostly quality of life/hhp. they just didn't have time and did a sims 4 with release.

One thing I hope Nintendo works on is legends arceus, I feel like they can do so much with that game. For example the area where you start the game when you learn how to catch pokemon with the starters, there's a boat dock maybe they can use that to travel to the other regions and in doing so they can add in more pokemon from those regions and maybe add more hair styles and clothes from those regions. The reason I thought of this is because acnh had the boat dock before adding in kapin, but who knows it's just a fun thought.

Nintendo will MOST DEFINITLY not do that. Its most likely theywill just keep doing legends games from diferent hard to get mythicals (a futiristic one for Genesect sounds cool and could tie in things fron SV) while and update sounds good, but from a game developing perspective, a full game gets you more money than a DLC. they could add more pokemon to the space-time distorsions buts its highly unlikely.

I want the next system to be the same as the Switch (handheld and home console) but more powerful. They absolutely can do that, the Steam Deck has proved it. There's a game similar to Nintendogs called Little Friends. Not Nintendogs as we remember it but you can adopt dogs OR cats and take your dog to competitions, go on a walk, Dress them up etc. Its wholesome.

more on what you said about acnh & gender at 7:21, if there is any update Nintendo absolutely should give us it’s to be able to change your name (and island name but thats unrelated) in the game for the sake of our trans/nonbinary friends. for those who came out after starting acnh their games keep misgendering them with their dead names and the only way to get out of it is resetting their whole Island which they should not have to do for that reason.

About your discussion on the direct, I’m commenting after it happened so no new console yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull a 3ds move. Like the ds -> 3ds move was pretty good to me. Updated system, could play ds games just fine, included a new feature but wasn’t TOO new. If they do smthn similar with the switch then it could go very well (Thinking on it, the wiiu to the switch was kinda like the ds to the 3ds…)

In Animal Crossing for the game cube, during a certain time of day during an event (I forgot what it's called :'>) two villagers will race and another one will stand off to the side and pull out a starter pistol and fire it to start the race between the racing villagers who will run around (and fall on their face in the process) the plaza's fountain.
