I bought the bourbon blade. I am a contractor who does woodworking as a hobby. That blade serves me so well in the field as a contractor. I have used it to mortise hinges and even shaping treated wood around uneven brick. That thing is awesome and very well built.

You took the words out of my mouth. As a retired carpenter, the last company I worked for was a moveable partition outfit. We regularly had to stock large heavy panels into 2nd story (all the way up to the 57th floor!) of many buildings. They were always too tall and too heavy to drag around. We've even stocked panels on top of an elevator with the elevator guy running it on top with us!

Those bandy clamps are handy but I’m too cheap. Pick up some $1 squeeze clamps and drill some holes about 1/2” down each pad. Run a couple wide rubber bands through the holes and pull the ends over the ends of the pads and viola! $1.25 bandy clamps.

Great video as always. I watch a build video like this and Jason makes it all look so simple and easy. And yet I feel like there a million spots in this video where I just wouldn't be able to even come close to what he is doing. As an example - early in the video he makes a trim for the bottom of the hutch and uses miter joints. He makes that look so darn simple. Just lay the trim on there, mark it, cut it at the miter saw with a 45 degree angle and boom - it just goes together. There was a tiny little gap to fill but overall they fit together nicely and he moved on. I feel like for me just doing that mitered trim on the bottom would take half a day and probably I would waste a bunch of wood with some attempts that had huge gaps. I watch this video and he makes it look so simple to build and assemble something large like this. And yet it feels like I would really struggle. I guess that's why he is a craftsman and I am a dude in a garage. Ha ha

Nice job. You can up your future designs by using an odd number of elements - a center element and two or four side elements. Also, the center element should be an inch or two deeper to set it off. Brent Hull does a nice job of describing why classical design works. Nice inset doors and drawer fronts.

Not sure you built a true French farm style piece of furniture, and I know what I'm talking about since I'm French, but you definitely built a very, very beautiful piece of furtniture. This one looks amazing to me and the process of making it up is so inspiring to me. It seems so... easy peasy, lemon squeezy when you do it. And there is something else I really liked by the end of the video, although I couldn't see it entirely, it's the painting against the wall in your livingroom.

Amazing build, very impressive how much wood you decided to put on that thing!! ONE small thing you might want to consider remedying though, home theater amplification needs some ventilation as it can get pretty hot (it looks like you're using a receiver of some kind, which has the amplifier built in). So you might want to add some ventilation holes for the cubby where it's going to sit? I would suggest on the back panel, but with the piece flush against the wall that's not going to get a lot of airflow? Again, fantastic piece!!!

I watched every minute of the video. Nice work. As a wood working myself, I once made something like this for my bedroom tv and storage. After I finished, then I got to thinking, will this thing fit down the hall and into the bedroom. I did have to stand it on end to make it through the door but another 1/2 longer and it would not have made it. I told my wife it is now a permanent piece to the room. If and when we leave this earth, the new owner will enjoy the piece or take a saw to it. lol.

I do love the Bourbon Blade, I carry it instead of Benchmade, and ue it all the time. I also know you can just use steel wool dissolved in vinegar to react with the tannins in oak. A lot of steel wool will turn it black, but a little gives the effect you wanted.

I think you might have missed a trick by not running the edge banding for the shelves through that router but you used for the trim between the corbles. When I first saw this gigantic piece of furniture I thought this was a monstrosity. But it is really well designed and aesthetically pleasing. The only thing that bothered me and why I called it 'monstrosity' in my head was its size. Now I recognize it's near perfect and definitely befitting your gigantic home 😅 So don't say you're not smart. There are so many little details, ideas and solutions in this project. You seem to have a feeling for all that and that's definitely smart, if you ask me, and it has little to do with forgetting to do or not knowing the name of things. Great work 😎
