Great video! Btw - thank you for addressing the references to the "big bedroom"! I recently had that discussion with my wife when I wasn't politically correct with my terminology...

I love your videos and love what you're doing here .... however ..... Whatever focus filter you are using on this video, please stop! It looks awful, I felt nauseous watching the opening talk about the paint colour on the outside. The focal point was all over the place, looks like AI selfie crap on a cheap cellphone.

As long as you are going all out on the house. Why not look at Sub-Zero Wolf Cove appliances for the kitchen and beverage center? They are built in and look amazing. It will take your kitchen to the next level.

Heeeey! Idea - floating steps for the stairways? (If left wall can support it? metal frame for the hardwood step (not sure how do you call the surface where you are step on) with one piece of vertical (metal) rail support and single rail to join all supports on top or individual parts of the hand rail - but they may flex when you walk ? Anyway - this will look very airy and transparent and light - regardless of the metal you have to build it from :-)

I will never, ever live in an HOA where someone else can tell me what I can and cannot do with property I own. F-that. HOA leadership attracts all the Karens who want to get a little power and then pretend they have ALL the power and abuse it and the people who live there.

pocket door, save some money just turn it around, chimney fireplace the colour of the exterior would make it a feature, and you don't have to clean it, plus the grey makes the fire glow seem a bit better.

"Master Bedroom" LOL ... like it's going to Enslave and Oppress the other bedrooms 😝. Master has more meanings than just in Slavery. Next thing you know Master Lock will have to change their name to Primary Lock... or Equity Lock, so all the other locks don't feel inferior... ROFLOL. And Master Woodworkers, will have to be called Everyday-Ordinary-Woodworkers, so they don't offend the crappy, who-don't-really-even-try, want-a-be woodworkers. Collectively (not in a Marxist way), we just need to tell these politically correct people to worry about their own "flaws" (like judging others), and stop messing with ours!!! There's a lot to be admired about the old-days, when people who thought they had to correct everything a person said, eventually, had no friends at all, so they had to correct their cats... or they taught English 🤣

I've worked on a number of homes that were getting pocket doors and not once did any come with a chunk cut out of it like that. The only way it came like that was if you asked for it when buying it. I'd change the color of the fireplace bricks. Everything white is not great to begin with but white there is just gonna be a hassle especially as the years go by and it gets stained from all the fires. Something darker and contrasting with literally everything else that's white will look so much better.

Looks great. Exterior color is a bit one note though, could use some contrast color. I think I like the red brick fireplace better 😬. For the stairs, what about a spiral staircase or floating stairs?

People actually got upset about your MASTER BEDROOM? I mean what does the future hold for my poor children. And yes people are clearly way too sensitive and really need to stop trying so hard to be victims.

Not sure why the plate rail idea even came up….. Maybe you will both decide to go simpler. Take one (HUGE) thing off your list…. I don’t know if you ever discussed it, but what about a spiral staircase? It could be in front of the kitchen island, leaving the view from the front door open. AND! Best of all! Goes with the 1970s style of the house!

"primary bathroom," so Master Bedroom. It's not racist to use that phrase regardless of what the disingenuous Marxist PC culture claims. The term master predates the African slave trade by 4 centuries. It doesn't predate slavery because slavery is part of all human history. Every race has both been enslaved and enslaved; no one is innocent, and no one has a monopoly on being offended, regardless of what the PC culture says. Besides, slavery today is four times bigger than the African slave trade was in it's entire duration, but the PC culture in America doesn't seem to give a damn. That's because they would have to pay a more for some of their imported goods. Below is a partial list of where the slave trade is alive and thriving in 2024; it should give everyone something to think about when purchasing goods and services. For those who are so offended by the term "Master bedroom," maybe you should put your energy into doing something for 21st century slaves instead of pretending to care about something that happened centuries ago in North America. Mauritania: Despite abolishing slavery in 1981 and criminalizing it in 2007, the practice continues, with an estimated 20% of the population still enslaved. India: Debt bondage and forced labour are widespread, particularly in agriculture and construction. Nigeria: Human trafficking and forced labour are significant issues, with many victims being exploited in the sex trade or forced to work in agriculture and domestic service. Myanmar: Forced labour and human trafficking are rampant, particularly in the garment industry and agriculture.

Love it! I'm going to enjoy ride, while you do the work. It's really coming along nicely, I like the exterior color and it really looks good with the pavers. I'm assuming there will be some contrast color in the interior. White is so bland and sterile, not very cozy. Painting the the fireplace brick really perked it up, that old brick was awful.

They do make space saving spiral staircases but that may be too narrow of an entry way. Of course, the kids will be the ones that usually stay upstairs so the tight clearance going up the stairs wouldn't really be an issue.
