The original version was not this one, it was more chill, this version was made in Belgium by a famous producer at that time, and Madonna was trying to be one of his dancer, he saw her talent, and tried to convince his producers to make her sing, which she didnt want to do at that time, she was trying to be either dancer, or acting. He lived with her but their relation is just friendship.

Patrick spent his entire career singing a song that he first wrote as a rocker but realized he was better off going disco and it was a worldwide smash. I wondered to myself could you have spent your life singing one song over and over and I thought yes. If I liked the song enough and it brought people joy then why not sing over and over. I love the song.

In the days of Disco this was the kind of song that would fill the dance floor. I can see the quiana skirts swirling. The come-f-me pumps. The dudes gold chains slapping against hairy chests. DISCO!!!!💃🕺💃🕺This would play at Studio 54 and you have to picture all the couples in their 70s disco outfits (think “Saturday Night Fever” ) dancing the hustle (called “hustling” ) back then. This was a HUGE hit of that era!! Any music you hear with that pronounced metronome-like beat is a disco song bc you hustled with your partner to that beat. 💃🕺 It’s pre-80s. Met my husband at the end of my 7th grade year, in Catholic Elementary school, when I was 13 and he was 16. In 8th grade my teachers used to get me to organize all of our dances / parties. So I always got them to let my husband and his “crew” DJ the parties. (All of the teachers knew him because he had gone to the same school and was the head Alter boy in the church.) THIS SONG WAS THE BEST for getting everyone up on the dance floor. I think we may have even won a dance contest to it once. Unfortunately, the video doesn’t do the song justice. Ahhhh, the memories it brings back. Now days, I love blasting it while driving with the windows down. I think I suggested this like a year ago. So glad you got to do it!!! 💃🏻🕺🏼❤️

Was he very dumb or very smart He conquered the world with a single song, it's a super classic from the 70s, it was so successful that even today it continues to generate a lot of money. Patrick Hernandez was born in France on April 6, 1949, but as his name already indicates, he has ancestry Spanish, his father was a Spanish guitarist and his mother an Italian Austrian singer so art and music were already in his blood. At the beginning of 1978 Patrick wrote the song that brought him fame and global recognition, it is a statement very personal freedom with the title BORN TO BE ALIVE, where in a few verses he explains that we were all born to be alive and enjoy life and that he doesn't want to complicate his existence by following social standards that others follow, in the lyrics of the song although simple, it contained a message with a certain depth, a reflection that we should make the most of time and live life to the fullest. In an interview given to the French seminary Gala Patrick Hernandez stated, when I wake up in the morning I don't feel particularly worried about my future because I already know that I will earn between 800 and 1,500 Euros per day for writing and recording this song and explained that this amount can be even higher when it is used by a big brand or TV commercial, the song has been covered by numerous artists, of which Sabrina stands out Salerno, that singer of the musical theme BOYS BOYS BOYS, He followed exactly what the lyrics of his song say, he moved away from the stage and the mainstream media and leads a life without hustle and in a simple way.

This may seem a bit random, but I once came across a video where they were playing the longer dance mix of this, and it looks like it was from the 1979 World Disco Dancing Championship (apparently that was a thing at one time). The video I've seen has several dancers busting a move down the line, each of them representing a different country. One of the dancers was Downtown Julie Brown, who would ultimately win the competition that year. She would eventually end up being a well-known personality on MTV in the late 80s and early 90s.
