Just found this video, ya'll are the first reaction folks that treated this movie with the respect it deserves from the beginning. Definitely watched this movie with eyes unclouded. :)

Ashitaka catching the guy’s arrow and shooting it back at him is one of the sickest things I’ve ever seen!

best arrow/bow usage in anime: Lord Marksman and Vanadis (main male character: Tigrevurmud "Tigre" Vorn) // highly recommend this anime, it's really good, but yes, there's also quite some fanservice too, lol especially, when he gets/uses the most cool and powerful bow (and weapon) of all time: The Black Bow grins, hehe and has the most epic bow scene of all time (even more than Ashitaka catching the arrow, and Tigre does that too, and way more epically too, as well, lol): (spoiler warning, don't watch if you are interested in watching this anime) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4uplop3hd-sqpI (most epic bow scene of all) kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3jOqJtur6p2hs0 (the epic arrow catch by Tigre)

Lady Eboshi is one of my fave characters here, and I love how, in spite of the veneration of nature and tradition, progress isn't totally villified. The liberation of women, the sick, disabled, and poor is showcased, and Eboshi is kind and open, while still being strong, decisive, and a good leader.

I still find it strange, how easy I can go from liking her and respecting her to wanting to scream "YOU B****" with tears coursing down my face as she kills the forest spirit to feeling relief when she decides to rebuild the town she built but this time working with nature instead of against it and feeling like she's someone we can put our hope in. But why did she want to kill the Spirit in the first place?

@@agenttheater5cause she see it like a way to save her people. U must know, and see it with eyes before 200 years ago. This other king Asano representing that, nothing what they living is not gratis! She must fighting with others for life her people, she is selling the iron, iron can get if just get it from nature and in the begining whe sas the scene where her people where also attacked from wolves (nature). So why she wants kill him? U get it? Its hard to understand but, this movie is in this masterpiece. And one another reason, she owns to jiggo also cause he helped her with these samurai. That means she is trusted and responsible for her decision. Lady Eboshi is clever, responsible helpfull and very strong and also open mind charakter, when in the end, see to way build it better, but no bad... She is the best character in whole movie. And many more thing about her, how she respect ashitaka, when she said let him do what he wants, cause she know he is not her enemy...

@@lukasrebry3501 Slaughtering 100s of innocent sentient creatures, Killing a benevolent forest spirit who did nothing to you trying to kill the main protagonist when he was trying to stop the fighting makes you the villain. She may have had good intention for her people but evil is evil period sympathetic villain sure but many world leaders did horrible things for the sake of they're people and beliefs.

The best part of the storytelling in this film is that even before you know the point of the movie, you already feel like you're team-nature, as is intended. Gotta love these Ghibli movies, 10/10!

nah being team nature means throwing out all our possessions lol, its easy to root for in the show but in real life we would never give up our industralized comforts for nature.

You guys got a new subscriber with me. For one thing you’re not completely ignorant, for another thing you’re not disrespectful like many other reactors I’ve seen react to this.

Great reaction team. I'm so glad I found your channel. Somehow Princess Mononoke reactions are still pretty niche and you guys went into it with all the respect and sensibility it deserves. But yeah, just like that, ALL the ancient Gods got clapped... So sad yet powerful. This is a magnum opus when it comes to environmental movies.

Yakul is a good girl. She is loyal to her master and has made friends with the Moro pups.
Can you do other ghibli movies?? Most people do princess Mononoke , spirited away and houl’s moving castle. Obviously they are all great, but I wanna see people react other stuff❤❤❤ My favorite would be Porco Rosso, Pom Poko, Nausicaa🤩✨✨

@ no problem! I’ve only seen a few Reactor’s do it but they all loved it. The director of Black Swan took heavy inspiration from Perfect Blue. There was also a scene copied from it for the movie Requiem for a Dream.

Yes ! I second this. It's one of the best psychological thrillers ever made and was even the inspiration for a very well-known Western psych-thriller.

In the English dub, Kaya (the girl who gave him the knife) is his sister. I actually really love the English dub of most Miyazaki movies so I watch those more than subs.

I think it's also fine for him to find a new person to love. After all, he was banished from his home village and told never to come back. It doesn't mean he forgot about the previous love, but people should be allowed to move on.

@@skyclubreacts I prefer the subs a lot. The dubs sometimes give away plot points in an attempt to over-explain the cultural references.. There is even a film where the ending is left ambiguous on purpose, but the Disney dub decided that this is too much for Americans to handle, so they turned it into a happily-ever-after ending by adding a line that doesn't exist in the original.
