While they are not a Christian band the singer song writer Blackie Lawless went though several times in his life trying to find himself and then he finally found the Lord and embraced the bible . He is a talented song writer and musician and has done some really out there stuff as part of their gigs .But Blackie is a very versatile artist and writes what he's feeling and that is prevalent with the dark stuff they have done previously. I'm a huge fan of Blackie his music and his life's journey . Many have asked him why he can't do what he's done in his previous work and Blackie has said because I'm not that person anymore and can't do what I did at that time of my life .

This is a great song! The singer and rhythm guitarist, Blackie Lawless, literally grew up in the church. He had family that were reverends, etc. and if the church was open Blackie was there into his late teens. From Blackie: “I walked around for 20 years and thought I was mad at God. I realized after 20 years I was not mad at God I was mad at man for that indoctrination I received.” Blackie rejoined the church and was “born again” around 2012. This song speaks for me. I can relate to everything he says. When this was released, I was separated and in the beginning of a divorce after 32 years of marriage and 35 years together and raising 3 kids together. One of W.A.S.P.’s big hits was “Animal (F**k Like a Beast)”. Blackie will no longer play that song in concert.

This indeed. W.A.S.P. has been one of my favorite bands since the 80s (forgetting intentionally "Helldorado")

Most of the animation on this video is from the perspective of the thief on his right hand, who initially committed blasphemy with the thief on the left, but later repented and asked him to remember him in his kingdom Edit: sorry, didn't mean to reply to your comment with this

Golgotha is the mount where he was crucified. This song is being spoken from the the thief being crucified next to him.

WASP has had lots of different directions but Blackie Lawless is a Christian man. He grew up in the church as a kid so the foundation was there. He is a masterful song writer ,vocalist , Bassist and guitar player. His songs are passionate and thought provoking His early stuff is pretty wild but when he wrote The Crimson Idol album there was a change in his direction.

Blackie Lawless is the only original member left in WASP. I saw them with Iron Maiden in 1985. Back then they had a song called "Animal (F*** Like A Beast)" and it got a lot of attention from the PMRC, an organization that made the "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics" label be put on albums which merited it. In the 1980s, Blackie didn't even like Stryper. As far as I know, Blackie is the only born-again member of WASP, but he says the rest of the band supports him in his faith.

yes, one of the best rock solos ever ... almost a song in itself; and one of the best reaction commentaries I have seen on any video ... legit

This song makes me sob, just like The Passion of the Christ does.

W.A.S.P. main man Blackie Lawless is one of the greatest songwriters ever. Unlike the vast majority or 'hair metal' bands of the 80s that withered and died in the 90s W.A.S.P. never stopped putting out superb music. Right up until 'Golgotha', their last LP. The whole record is brilliant. Blackie is still as vital and badass as he has always been.

Wasp got me through alot. This is one of there best songs. Besides heavens hung in black. Wasp came along way from torture chambers on stage to jus solid metal that is amazing

The garden you're referring to is Gethsemane. Golgotha was the hill where Christ was crucified - a place accursed as criminals and malefactors were put to death. The Lord Jesus was laid in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea; a rich man and, according to tradition, one of the Pharisees, Joseph of Arimathea would never have had his tomb hewn into an hill that was considered unclean, according to Jewish tradition. Golgotha would have been considered unclean, because of the deaths of sinners upon that hill.

Do not watch or listen to earlier music in their career. This not a Christian band but a shock rock type. Like Alice Cooper, He later on found his way back. He and Alice Cooper have said that there are some songs that they won't play live again, I believe. Still are great bands, I grew up listening to them and still do.

You have it wrong. Golgotha is where Jesus was Crucified not where he was buried. This is from the point of view of Dismas the Penitent Thief not Gestas, the Impenitent Thief because he asks Jesus to remember his name as he knows he will die before nighttime! He swears his knees are buried at his Cross, and asks are you really who you claim to be because I receive you as the Son of God. Hoping that his faith is real and he hasn't fallen for the words of a Madman!

If you thought that song was good try Godless Run it's a far more personal song of faith. And better in my opinion.

You should check out a song titled 23 by Deliverance a Christian band. And side note back in the early '80's Blackie said W.A.S.P. was an acronym for We Are Sexual Prevents. Don't know if it was toungue in cheek or if he was serious at that time.

W.A.S.P. was also supposed to stand for WE ARE SATAN'S PEOPLE. I think when Blackie said that, it was tongue in cheek.

Piece of constructive advice. Too many pauses are irritating to people who watch reaction videos. Let it roll, and give commentary at the END. Just a suggestion.
