Can we just sit back and appriciate how much you genuinly care about David Freiburger. You literally spent all that time just caring more about your friend than you care about making it to the next race. You are someone that all friends should aspire to be. Thank you for being a good influence and someone we should all want to be like.

Knowing the fate of the hemi doesn't ruin the video. Tony is 100% motivated. Mike is 100% gutted. And when blasphemi is running the audio is magical.

I can see why Tony and Newburn are doing more of there own thing now, Finnegan has good content but he's more about standing back and having other people do the work
@punishergto5182
@punishergto5182 2 жыл бұрын
@@terrymoore9185 I disagree. He wrenchs a lot in his videos. In this video Mike's calculating all the dollar signs its going to take to build another hemi and wouldn't want to open up the engine in a parking lot (again) to find out what it needs. Then have to stick it back in the car to get it on the truck and somewhere to pull it again and fix it. That's why it's drag week

@@terrymoore9185 Not gonna lie, I can kind of tell you aren't a racer or from a racing family. Part of why Mike is LESS hands on for parts of this with the motor is he's trying to pick ties and yknow, get the car and coincidentally the entire Blasphemi team back in the game. That means buying parts, making calls, seeing what he can pull from where to get things back rolling again. In this situation Mike CAN'T be under the hood of the car because he needs to be figuring out what the fuck is the next step for them, is everyone going home or are we buying something last minute to stuff in the car and get back on the road, do we have a motor do we not, do we have a shop, the place to do the tooling the motor needs or not? Tony and everyone else is having to jump in to cover the slack BECAUSE Mike can't be doing everything in this instance. I can assure you he WANTS to but some things take priority, no sense tearing it apart if you have nothing to replace the potentially trashed motor WITH or anywhere to get parts or anywhere to have the work done the motor needs. Here we see Mike managing the team, he's the driver, the sponsor and the owner, he's got on about twelve different hats in this instance, Tony is stepping up being his crew chief getting bodies together to get the car worked on and pulling up the slack where Mike USUALLY is because Mike is again, wearing half a dozen other hats that take priority here over mechanic. I get what you're saying I do, it's the same thing I started to see with Freiburger in Roadkill, he spent more time standing around being a host than a partner to Finnegan, but when you look at it from the perspective of David bankrolling most of the stuff and covering the more management side of things it starts to make a little more sense why he isn't acting as a second set of hands on the cars. I'm not faulting you on your thought process just trying to explain to you what you aren't seeing here because you just.. don't know these things.

Finnegan, Obviously I feel for you having to go through all of this, but in all honesty this is some of my favorite content. The Crime Scene Investigation you have to do to figure out a problem, talking through all options and possibilities, and figuring out the root cause, and the solution to get back on track. I know it's at your expense, but this makes for some of the most intriguing content. You've taught us all so much. Also, Tony is such a great partner and valuable resource. Priceless resource.

I love seeing Tony's competitor mentality. When others would be mourning the loss of another hemi, man's busy talking people into handing over their engines so he can complete the race regardless of the cost. I'm sure that toughness was part of how he was able to campaign in FD on basically no budget for so long.

Thanks for all of the additional effort put into filming this, and being so (seemingly) candid. You have done EVERYTHING possible to race- your friends are behind you. This is passion- try NOT to entertain ANY anguish, because it's ok, because that's the way it is.. it must be okay- just remember to pay the kindness forward.

Wow. What a rollercoaster of emotions. Kudos to you for sharing this story as it does provide a complete picture of what went on. Plus, thanks for posting in this longer format. Around the holidays it is nice to have something to watch when the weather outside is so brutal for some of us.

Fantastic movie. I thought Roadkill episode 70 (Blaspemi vs Super Bee) was the perfect example of the agony & ecstasy of building and running a race car, but this tops it. The stoicism that you and Tony A show when giving up would be the obvious option is inspiring.

Love watching you guys doing Drag Week. This may have been mentioned elsewhere, but our field techs regularly use FaceTime on their smart phones to let the engineers see what they are seeing. Cuts down on confusion, etc. Lots less finger pointing.

Tony is one hell of a teammate. He doesn't know how to quit. He will beg, borrow and steal to get it done and that is very admirable. Thank you to Frieburger for letting Mike use the old Hemi as well. What are friends for?!
