I'll be honest...I got a knot in my stomach when I saw this video was finally here. The fight is SO good, the culmination of so many plot threads and character arcs (Demetri beating Hawk is a standout moment), but it is soooooo devastating. It's insane to me that the show was almost cancelled after this; I got into it just before season 3 was picked up by Netflix, but it would have depressed me so much if I saw what happened to Miguel and then heard the show was done. The show's themes are always on point, but one thing I really love is that it was the Cobra Kai student who showed mercy, and the Miyagi Do student who didn't. The parallels are insane.

The whole thing of blaming Sam for that kiss is weird. Among other things, she was drunk and Miguel was sober, which makes him more responsible. Also, they immediately regretted it. We see that Sam was planning to tell Robby about it when they had more than a couple of seconds to talk about it, and I'm willing to bet that Miguel was going to tell Tory, but instead of talking to him about what she saw first, she... does this?

Technically it is Sam that made the move to kiss Miguel (even if he didn't push her back) so I think that's why Tory got mad at her first, especially given their bad history. To be honest, even if that's stiill cheating on Miguel's part, I always felt Tory was pretty stupid on that part and overreacted. She knew Miguel wasn't over Sam when she came onto him and told him the best way to get a girl back is to act like you're over her and big surprise, he did that and Sam kissed him and then Tory's mad as if things didn't go exactly the way she predicted they would. I get that it hurts cause she liked Miguel and they were dating but that's why you don't date people who aren't over their ex.

I love Miguel and I know folks are gonna want to argue about what I say, but at the same time what did Miguel expect was gonna happen after he assumed the situation and then attacked Robby and escalated the fight? I mean nobody else jumped in until he did. Plus adding fuel to the flame, getting Robby more angrier was a bad move cause by the time he said sorry and let him go, he had already poked the bear and Robby was seeing red at that point and realistically anyone and I mean anyone who gets attacked by someone, gets into a fight with them and their friends, is not looking for an apology during it, their blood is boiling. Plus no one else pays attention to the whole portion of their fight cause there’s a quick moment Miguel does kick Robby towards the rail first but Robby just didn’t go over so what happened to Miguel almost happened to Robby but nobody brings it up.
