As others have pointed out, Yuta actually gets a ton of mentions in season 1 to the point where if you didn't catch them the first time on a re-view you will wonder how you didn't remember them. For example, he is mentioned and shown when Gojo is talking to the Kyoto principal about powerful upcoming sorcerers, he is mentioned by Megumi when he introduces the 2nd years as the only one of them he "can truly respect", he is mentioned by Todo when he bullies Megumi, and he is mentioned and shown again at the school event by Panda and talked about by the Kyota students. While many of the protagonists in JJK could probably have their own movie on their exploits, Yuta is a unique case because he was originally the MC for JJK before Gege Akutami decided to go a different direction.

Okkotsu Yuta is mentionned and shown several times in season 1 (including in the second opening), but he's never actually present in the story (yet). In season 1 they say he's abroad, and although we don't know why we can infer from the last scene of the movie that he's in whatever country Miguel is.

One interesting trivia to note: The author shared that because Geto had committed a huge number of his curses to the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. When he casted the Uzumaki, he was not pushing the max quantity of curses. The author mentioned if Geto’s Uzumaki was in full power, Yuta would definitely loses.

Couple of things - Yuta wasn't in the series....the only time you heard about him was in episode 8 when Todo wanted Jujitsu high students to get Yuta to participate in the exchange event. - The reason Yuta wasn't in the series was because he was in a different country on a mission with homeboy that Gojo murked - From every character you've seen in the show and movie.... Yuta is 3rd in power only behind Gojo and Sakuna.

(I'm assuming since you watrched the movie in Japanese you'll react to season 2 right away this summer with the japanese version ? Hope you like it as much (or maybe more ;p) as the dub.) Edit : fun fact, the movie came out a 24 december, exactly like in the story the big attack is a 24 december.

Yuta is mentioned many times back in Season 1. In the Kyoto exchange event, they talk about him regularly. They also mention him as the grade 4 student training and working overseas. Todo mentions Yuta during his row with Megumi. He is also mentioned by Panda. Gojo dealed with Miguel to train Yuta and Miguel brought Yuta from Grade 4 to Grade 1 in four months. We also see the record of Nanami's 4 consecutive black flashes here. And the last one depicts his ratio and 7:3 technique. Another detail is that when Todo walked up to that big cursed spirit to throw hands with it alone and all the other cursed spirits he defeated before in the Night Parade. Megumi talks about it in the meeting before the exchange event "Todo?! That Todo?! The one who beat up many cursed spirits with his bare hands?!" Also when Pseudo-Geto says in Season 1 that he cannot let anyone from Jujutsu High see his face right now. This line is a major spoiler for Season 2 Shibuya Incident arc.

Yuuta is the only student of Gojo whose strength is on par with Gojo and he is even called the strongest shaman jujutsu wizard. In season 1 he is often the subject of discussion among jujutsu students

I love the line “the weaker curses are, the more they group together.” In season 1, the curses we see grouping together are Jogo, Hanami, Mahito, etc, some of strongest curses we’ve seen so far. And Sukuna (really just the 3/20ths of Sukuna’s soul within Itadori at this point) totally overpowers Mahito and refuses to work with him in ep 12/13. Makes me think, dude must really be on a different level

Jujutsu 0 was a one shot manga the mangaka created. It got so popular that he got asked to create a new story. So he made jujutsu kaisen with a new protagonist and new class. But they make references to the incident the year before. Like how they said Todo killed a bunch if curses and he was disappointed Yuta wasn't at the exchange.

The reason for Yuta being able to use cursed speach is because is own curse tecnique is "Copy" he can copy cursed tecniques from others if he has enough cursed energy, which he normally does since he is the person with the most Jujutsu energy alive.

Geto reminds me of Shinobu Sensui from Yu Yu Hakusho. Both of them: • Have a Black & White mindset. • Are self imposed agents for their own sense of justice. • Gone through mind warping experiences that have conflicted with their ideals and morals. • Have similar colour schemes when is comes to their choice of clothing. • The same type nonchalant attitude they choose to express.

Hey just to give you guys the full understanding of the movie and how it ties in to everything first the easter eggs the guy that ran over rika is the delinquint who was in juvie/prison that they tried to save for his mom but he was cut in half when they found him hehehehe..... Then at the end when you see okotsu with miguel and Gojo shows up thats the errand he had to run when Megumi, itadori and Nobara where pushed by the higher ups to take on that special grade in the prison..... And now finally the reason Okotsu is soooo powerful as you know now is because he is from the powerul side Gojo's family line and they have boundless amounts of cursed energy like insane reservoirs and always get insanse cursed techniques which vary and Okotsu cursed technique is kinda like a quality copy of some sorts where if he has seen a technique in use and understands the basis of it he can copy it to a respectable level and use it like he did with Inumakis technique and paired with his cursed energy he can do a lot of damage with it while not being able to use it to an expert level he can affect soo much cause he has soo much cursed energy so his damage output and AOE is off the charts.... SOOO YEAH OKOTSU IS KINDA OP OP and thats why Todou wants to fight him because he is enamored by okotsu. And rika becoming a special grade cursed is because of that cursed energy that okotsu has and the feelings involved making her sooo strong and powerful thats why the higher ups where confused because they didnt understand how she became such an immense high end special grade curse so they started to investigate and badaboom badabing they find out his heritage

And Gojo went to see Yuta during the Junpei and Mahito arc, that's why he said he couldn't oversee the mission and why he came to the exchange event with African tribe souvenirs

1. Yes, gojo killed him. I wouldn't say more than that 2. Yuta was a special grade when he had Rika but after he lost her, he was demoted to grade 4. Gojo sent him to Kenya to train with Miguel( the foreigner) and he was able to go from grade 4 back to special grade in like 3 months (he's a prodigy, gojo mentioned in s1 that he's one of the students who can surpass him). The reason gojo sent him to train with that guy was because gojo was very impressed after that their fight, even though he got clapped he still held his own. Gojo was also very interested in that rope he was using because it could block his technique (reason why he had to throw hands so much instead of using jujutsu). Miguel wasn't part of geto's "family", he's a mercenary (gun-for-hire), so gojo just tracked him down and gave him two options 1. Help me learn more about the rope and train yuta 2. I'll kill you. Miguel chose wisely😅😅😅 In s1, they mentioned gojo being on a trip abroad when yuji went for the cursed womb mission, the post credit scene is that trip abroad

The Kamo you're referring to isn't Kamo, they said themselves it's one of the names they used. They also are not all knowing so they're going off of what they've seen in Geto's memories. HQ doesn't believe Yuta is a replacement for Gojo nor did they want Gojo sealed. They capitalised on him being sealed so they could do what they always wanted but they don't trust Yuta for the same reasons they don't trust Yuji. They also know Gojo has an affinity for Yuta which is why they only sent him on the mission they did at the end of season 2 after he made a binding vow.

What I write from now on is spoiler-free. And I only talk about facts that are already in the anime. By the way, the text may be strange because it is translated from Japanese. Let's start the explanation. The words that Satoru Gojou said to Getou have nothing to do with the story, so I'll explain. That's what Satoru Gojo says aloud in a scene in this movie. Look for it. About the last scene after ED. In the opening footage of Season 1, there is a scene where Yuta and a Kenyan are together. Satoru Gojo goes on an overseas business trip in Season 1. The souvenir to the Kyoto school at the time of the exchange meeting was a tribal doll from some country. Where had he been? This work will be a work called "Tokyo Metropolitan Magic College" announced before "Jujutsu Kaisen". This is "Jujutsu Kaisen" which was serialized in manga. So, in some scenes, elements that weren't there originally were added later. And the result is this anime movie "Jujutsu Kaisen 0".

Great reaction! The Geto mystery in season 1 is interesting! Season 2 just drops and explore the Gojo and Geto relationship in a flashback! The anime youtube community...have oppinions Personally I find different adaptation's interesting aswell, but regardless of the language I always find the original to be the best. When a show is 'chefs kiss' it is the perfect blend of culture, language, music, and story telling.

Thats why yuta isnt in s1 hes been overseas learning from miguel( the foreigner from getous team) migeul isnt really a bad guy he was just a hired hand by Geto and has no lasting or real grudge against any of the sorcerers (except Gojo for beating his butt) geto knew about miguel’s rope, knew it would be perfect to keep gojo busy, and so he hired miguel for the job. just business for miguel, no real hate or evil that caused him to join I found this expalnation on reddit but i forget where from.

I'm so done with reactors forgetting Yuta being mentioned in Season 1 like.. why though????? Why will you forget him? They kept mentioning him there. This really tells me who pays attention to the show and unfortunately only a handful of reactors do. And that's also why watching anime in subs usually helps because you can read all the dialogue and the names etc it helps retain information, yes I get they want to watch without interruption but we are for the story AND the animation.

By Todo when he demands yuta shows up, megumi when introducing the second years and maki talking about the winner of the last exchange event. other than that there's no storylines or full conversations dedicated to him so there's no reason to remember the name.

A lot of reactions I watched for JJK also don't bother to learn about how the curses work or the intricacies of the world and just react to the fights and hype moments. But at least with them it's obvious they have knowledge and background of the world and actually tries to give depth to their analysis !

Many people including me of course think Yuta is a much better protagonist(MC) for this show & he should’ve been the main character but oh well. You’ll love seeing more of Yuta in upcoming seasons! Jujutsu kaisen story is just so so so good & unique! It is very dark & complex but also very fun & fulllll of greatest action sequences.
