Yoda was my favorite part of this movie. Everyone thought he was cute, but the first time I saw him, I thought he was hideous and looked like a swamp rat. I had to see the movie a few times before I starting liking him. He's still ugly, but kind of a cute ugly. I think he probably smells funny though, like moss or something. I do like the way he speaks. Now, he's my favorite even if he smells like a swamp.

Imagine having to wait 3 years to see what happens next. Unlike a lot of movies today where every answer is cleared up almost immediately and every detail is explained in endless cinematic universes and spinoffs. It seems like people can no longer tolerate ambiguity and mystery.

A lot of people don't seem to realize when Luke drops from the tower he doesn't fall straight down. He uses the force to guide himself to the air ducts in the side of the cylindrical chasm to escape, not at the bottom. You can see other vents lining the walls of the chasm.

"That is why you fail" I have used this line probably 1000x. These original 3 Star Wars movies are my favorites. The characters are very likeable and you end up caring about what happens to them. I'm glad you're enjoying these movies. Star Wars was crazy popular. There were lines around the theaters of people waiting to get in for weeks. Kids, teens, adults, everyone wanted to see Star Wars.

If I remember correctly Luke (Mark Hamill) actually was involved in an auto accident between the first 2 movies. That’s why his face looks like he’s been a fight/attacked in the snow beasts cave. The studio used the beasts attack to cover how he looks “different” from the 1st movie. Mark fractured his nose and left cheekbone in the accident. Cheers

Had such a great time seeing this in theaters back in 1980 when I was 6 years old. "The Empire Strikes Back" is the BEST "Star Wars" movie and one of the GREATEST films of all time. Easily my favorite John Williams film score.

In the scenes where Luke escapes the Wampa's lair and where Obi-Wan first tells Luke to find Yoda it was so cold out that the cast and crew filmed the scenes 15 feet from the doors of the hotel that was being used. This year the 501st legion revisited the site and left bronze plaques at the hill Mark Hamill rolled down and at the plain that the AT-AT attack was filmed on

The original name of Boba Fett's ship was the Slave 1 it's now known as Boba Fett's ship because it might hurt someone's feelings going by its original name. In the Star Wars galaxy, it was a model most commonly made for law enforcement and did have a cloaking device which is why the crew of the Millennium Falcon never realized they were being tracked. Before Boba the ship belonged to Jango Fett who appears in Episode 2. In the Mandalorian TV show on Disney + Boba pays homage to his father with a blaster spin of his own just as Jango once did. Its common sense put I would recommend no one ever try it with a real firearm. There have been a number of self inflicted gun shot injuries from people who were dumb enough to try and spin a loaded handgun a revolver in most cases in their hand before putting it into the holster and ending up shooting themselves in the foot or leg. Though those injuries were occurring long before Star Wars movies came out as old westerns also depicted cowboys doing the same and there were people who watched those movies that thought they could also do the same thing.

WARNING! Incoming wall of text, but please hear me out. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy the Star Wars Saga. You can watch it in Release Order, or Chronological Order, or Machete Order. I'm going to recommend Machete Order, or as some fans call it: Flashback Order. The original Machete Order says to cut out Episode 1, but we don't want to cut out anything. We want to watch everything. So we'll call it Flashback Order, but it's based on Machete Order. Flashback Order means you'll start with Episode 4, then 5, then flashback to the beginning with Episode 1, 2, 3, and then finish with 6. It sounds crazy but there's a reason for it, a story reason, some character reasons, and possible emotional reasons on your part, plus it gives much more context to the overall saga when you finish with 6. The creator of Star Wars, George Lucas, made some changes and additions to the Original Trilogy, some of which make callbacks to the Prequel Trilogy, but if you watch in Release Order, then those callbacks won't make sense, especially one particular callback in Episode 6, which has time and time again caused a bit of confusion from new fans reacting when they watch in Release Order, even if they eventually figure it out. But when watched in Machete/Flashback Order or even Chronological Order, then those callbacks are instantly understood. So that's my reasoning for watching the Flashback Order. There are many fans who insist that you watch in Release Order for the simple fact that most of us watched the saga that way. Although that's true, it doesn't seem to matter anymore now that there are 11 movies and several live action and animated shows to digest, which take place at different times in the timeline. So there needs to be some kind of order that respects both Release and Chronological Orders, and in my opinion, that's the Flashback Order. What's best about Flashback Order is that it can be modified. You can watch all of the films first. Or you can include live action shows. Or you can add in animated shows. I've explained each below. Nine Episode Films Only: Ep. 4: A New Hope Ep. 5: Empire Strikes Back Ep. 1: The Phantom Menace Ep. 2: Attack of the Clones Ep. 3: Revenge of the Sith Ep. 4: ANH (again) Ep. 5: ESB (again) Ep. 6: Return of the Jedi Ep. 7: The Force Awakens Ep. 8: The Last Jedi Ep. 9: The Rise of Skywalker I recommend watching 4 and 5 again so you can refresh your memory and see how everything matches up. Of course you wouldn't film your reaction to seeing them again. Just watch them on your own time before you see 6. If you want to watch all live action content, then watch this order. Live Action Only: Ep. 4: ANH Ep. 5: ESB Ep. 1: TPM Ep. 2: AotC Ep. 3: RotS Solo: A Star Wars Story Obi-Wan Kenobi series Andor series Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Ep. 4 ANH(again) Ep. 5 ESB (again) Ep. 6: RotJ Mandalorian series Season 1&2 Book of Boba Fett series Mandalorian Season 3 Ahsoka Series Ep. 7: TFA Ep. 8: TLJ Ep. 9: TRoS There are those who say you should watch Rogue One before you watch Andor. Cassian Andor is one of the main characters of Rogue One. The show, Andor, is about his past before the events of RO. There will be a season 2 and supposedly it will lead right up to RO. However, it doesn't seem like you need to skip Andor before watching RO. It's up to you if you want to watch RO first. I honestly think it's safe to watch Andor first. It's very good. It has received near universal praise from the SW community, which is rare. Another reason to watch Andor first is that you get to know him in the show, but if you watch RO first, then he's a new character you know nothing about, in a movie with a bunch of new characters you know nothing about. So at least you'll go into RO knowing one character. After you watch the live action stuff, you can dive into the animated stuff. Or if you want to watch it all, then check out the next watch order below. Everything Order: Ep. 4: ANH Ep. 5: ESB Ep. 1: TPM Ep. 2: AotC Clone Wars animated movie Clone Wars animated Seasons 1-7 (but save the last 4 episodes of S7 for after Ep. 3) Ep. 3: RotS CW S7: last 4 episodes Tales of the Jedi animated Bad Batch animated S1-2 Solo Obi-Wan Kenobi Rebels animated S1-4 Andor Rogue One Ep. 4: ANH (again) Ep. 5: ESB (again) Ep. 6: RotJ Mandalorian S1-2 Book of Boba Fett Mandalorian S3 Ahsoka Ep. 7: TFA Ep. 8: TLJ Resistance animated S1-2 (S1 takes place before and during TFA and S2 takes place during and a bit after TLJ so it makes sense to watch them after the two movies) Ep. 9: TRoS There's an animated series called Visions, which is pretty cool, but they are just non-canon SW anime shorts. Definitely recommended, but they don't tie into the overall story. Also, if you like books, comics and video games, there's plenty there to consume. So which should you choose? Films Only? Live Action Only? Everything? Depends on what kind of time you have. You should make a decision after you watch Episode II: Attack of the Clones. From there you can decide if you want to add in animated shows, or just stick to live action, or just watch the 9 Episode films for now. Whatever you choose, May the Force be with You!

Watch the release order first. (It has a few 'AH-HA! Luke saw his own head inside the helmet of the cave vision of Vader. There were two meanings behind this. The first was that if he was not careful, he would follow in the same footsteps as Vader did and the second was at that point in time, he was no match for the real Vader who was an expert at all of the 7 forms of lightsaber combat and had years of experience dueling with a lightsaber compared to Luke.

Out of all 9 episodic films, this is by far the best one. I am *so* with you regarding 3PO. A lot of people really enjoy that character, but I do not. I find him whiny and annoying as hell. Definitely not as annoying as a certain character from the prequel trilogy, but irritating as shit nonetheless. R2-D2 all the way! lol
@remo27
@remo27 10 ай бұрын
While I agree that R2 is better and 3PO is annoying at times (esp this movie) he means well, and he's sometimes VERY useful and to me that does count for something. 3PO and R2 also make for a great pair of robots and a comedic duo at times and UNLIKE that certain character (MEESA!) in the prequels Star Wars wouldn't quite feel like Star Wars if it didn't have 3PO in it.

This really shows the Jedi for the hypocrites they all are. They claim they are the so called heroes of the galaxy yet Yoda and Obi-Wan were more than willing to let Han, Leia and Chewbacca die. In the clone wars series and prequal trilogy that is further enforced the more you look into the Jedi order and how they operate. There were a few Jedi like Plo Kloon who actually was what they all claimed to be but that tended to be rare. If you did not help the Jedi order in some way you would be on your own just like General Grivious's people were after the Jedi that were promised to aid them so no value to it and left. Yoda actually foresees the event of order 66 which resulted in the deaths of thousands of Jedi and keeps that bit of information to himself letting it happen in events occurring at the end of episode 3.
