It's a beautiful sentiment, it truly is & I know it's not the same but have you thought about paper lanterns? They're so much more eco friendly. Or at the very least, please clip the string off. I work on the ocean for a living & you wouldn't believe how many end up in our oceans & wash up on our beaches. The strings also ensnare wildlife like penguins, sea turtles & birds of all sorts. The Mylar ones also get mistaken for fish & jellyfish & end up in the bellies of countless sea creatures. The regular balloons aren't much better, but at least they're a lot smaller. Please don't take this wrong, as I'm a fan of Granger & The Smiths & my heart is broken over the loss of sweet River, but please think before releasing balloons ❤

This is just a marketing gimmick to get people to litter with their product. The balloons pictured below were released to their standards. Some are months old, some are years old. Natural latex may be biodegradable, but after adding chemicals, plasticizers and artificial dyes, how natural could it be? It may degrade after several years, but it’s surely not “biodegradable.” Many people think it’s okay to release latex balloons because they are marketed as “biodegradable”. Sadly, this costs lives.. Latex balloons are the type most commonly found in the stomachs of dead animals." Not to mention the strings which cause entanglement & subsequent death of many animals. I'm not trying to cause a debate. Especially here. I just want people to be aware & to also know there are other options that are more eco & animal friendly ❤

Love this song and video! My mom passed away when my son was 4 and he did the same thing on his own too that your kids did. He said "mom I want to write to Mimi" and he asked if we could get balloons so we did and wrote on them and sent them to heaven. I love the innocence kids have. It's beautiful.

It has been 3 years since this was shot and 3 years since sweet River went to Heaven. It's interesting that only London and Lincoln were in the video and River was told "not this time. " I know no one knew then but I know this was not happenstance. The Lord sees all the balloons that are sent for the ones who are with Him and cares about the hearts of the ones who are here on earth missing them. I believe He lets the ones that are in Heaven see all the balloons sent their way every time too. This is touched by God and so, So sweet.
