This is great advice. I have been trading for 4 years and I thought that I had overcome my bad habits but just this week I got stopped out trying to short AJ and instead of just swallowing the 1% loss, I tried shorting it a further 4 times. AJ carried on an extra 230pips. I did stop myself and stopped trading but the temptation to double up and make back what was now a 5% loss was still very strong. Now it's the weekend, I am amazed that I am still capable of losing control of my emotions. Only the 4 years of experience stopped the situation getting much worse.

I did this yesterday funded 3000 traded usdjpy it was bearish took it to 13k from there I moved my stop loss to break even, price came back it took me out to break even and before continuing to the downside I over sized instead of waiting for the flag and play my order above I over sized the lot size it was just a pullback then it blew. I have learned that revenge trading is dangerous only trade when there's an opportunity. I appreciate your advise Mark 🙏

I took a huge loss over a year ago and I'm so grateful for it, it literally triggered a dark night of the soul. It was the best thing that could've happened to me; spiritually, emotionally, mentally and financially upgraded me. Humility and discipline are the most important things for me and I wouldn't have either at the level that I do without having taken that loss.

Took a loss on CHFJPY just this Friday. It was one that taught me the need to stick to my rules. I had taken a sell position and this was of high probability and met with my trading plan and forecast for the trade but it was also clear to me that I was not going to be available to manage the trade. By the time came in the chart the trade had committed to my entry and reversed to take me out on a 1% loss. I was most pained by the fact that I knew that I wouldn't be available to manage the trade but still went ahead to do that. Big lesson there for me

Never blown account and all personal money. However I learned very quickly to not place new trades on my phone at 6am, first because the view of my chart is hindered and second news is always at 7.30am my time and I have had more losses as a result of whipsaws than anything else. So new rules include not placing new trades before 7.30 am, wait for 8, see what happens and be patient, and never use phone to place a trade.USA news can be worse than swaps at 4pm at times especially FOMC and employment news of late. USA based.

It's true about trading psychology. On Friday I made a loss of USDCAD. I just got out of an argument with a friend and after a shocking reveal I just couldn't get my head straight. I traded in that mindset and not focused and I lost the trade. I didn't take any trade after that but I knew if I was in the right state of mind I could have taken more caution before taking the trade. But am happy I was able to master my emotions from revenge trading and knowing when to stop.

@@FalconFXTrading Well, I gathered a lot of money but the brokerage company was with was a scam they took all of my money and I can't take them to court because they are able to get away with it. Look up IG Markets and the broker was keeping a close eye on me I have screenshots to show how dodgy they are but apparently that's enough for me to prove them wrong and me right.
