In this episode of the Ute build we make the custom roof cage that is all removable. a special package from STEDI has arrived with all the lights for the car and we draw up and brace the rear of the chassis.

Hi, I just bought a GU ute and it has the same rippling on the chassis above the rear diff as your GQ ute, not sure if my chassis is bent or if it's factory. Cool build, love the channel.

Bro it looks mental but since you've had the plasma cutter everything has been so over engineered 😂

Thanks mate, haha well when it’s so easy to add details it becomes a bit of fun 🤣

I would most certainly be interested in purchasing a set of chassis plates when they become available. Very well thought out and with all the cutouts for welding to make for a smooth line once finished is bloody fantastic

Thanks for watching mate. Not sure what I’m doing with the snorkel yet

That looks awesome but welding everything up will it make the whole car rigid? Potentially crack the cab?. Either way it looks so good and making me want to start welding shit on mine 😂

I've had ebay single 10w led work lights on a dog cage...decent amount of light and only like 30mm square would fit between your headboard tubes at the top radius....not sure if stedi do a single 10w.

Not a bad idea actually, will see if I can find Something. Cheers mate

I know you don’t want to mount the lights too low But if you can do a bracket off the Rock sliders (I assume you will be making) more towards the rear of the cab under the Sill ( Obviously higher than what will slide on ground/Rocks ) they still light up quite a lot of the Ground and your surroundings which will give you good vision, Had 4 little bar spot lights on the inside of all 4 wheels and lit up everything. If you’re chasing vision of everything around your next possibility could be tucked under the front of tray spotting straight outwards (Assuming you aren’t running any front toolboxes 👍🏼

Hey mate, not a bad idea. I’ve got a couple ideas up my sleeve so I’ll see what comes of it. Not sure what’s going on with the tray yet but I’ll work out some good light spots!

one way power diode from jaycar in the feed line from reverse lights then just a normal switch to override as camp light etc without it back feeding to reverse lovin the bar work
@DanielKistler4 күн бұрын
That’s a good idea, might do that! Cheers mate

What the benefit of cab mounted sliders vs exo around the cab? Closeness of fitment or stronger?
@DanielKistler4 күн бұрын
From my perspective it looks better on the cab, probably a little stronger having more mounting points on the cab too.
