When I was young my dad taught me what he was doing at the time including sowing seeds in his greenhouse and planting and caring for his vegetable garden including helping move around 20tonne of cow manure off the road in front of our house to our back garden 😆 but he also learned me about power tools and stuff and I have passed that on to my kids, my daughter, son's between them built a chicken run for our silkies, gold tops, polish bantam hens and they did same for our indian runner ducks ♥️

I'm the same way with roses. I bought Knock-out Roses though and they grow like crazy. I also now ask at big box stores for their dead looking plants that they are throwing away. I get them for free or for .10 apiece. A little tlc and I now have a yard full of giant beautiful Lime Light Hydrangeas, Rose of Sharon's, and enough Azalea's to supply the neighborhood. All for a cost of almost nothing in money, just love and water!

Kimberly Hughes......My secret to getting a yard full of Rose of Sharons is to drive around and ask people if you can pull up some of their volunteer plants that always grow around the parent plants when they drop their seeds in the fall! (You can also see what color they will be.) Also, gather seeds from people who have the colors that you like (also doubles, singles, different colors etc.) The grow so easy! If you don't want all the fall seeds to germinate in your yard, cut off the seed pods right after the flowers form or before they turn dry and pop open! Have fun looking! God Bless!

When I lived in Southern California I had over 40 roses around our yard. My favorite was Mr. Lincoln. A huge deep red with a strong fragrance. I bought each one in rememberince of a loved one.i LOVED tending to them. And always had cut flowers in the house. We had a rose nursery close by. Goodness, we moved 20 yrs ago. A d the guys that bought our place ripped them all out. My neighbors were sick. But our new neighbor grows zinas like crazy. Very easy to grow. I'm excited for your adventure. And sad about AC/DC. Hugs

So so sorry about AC/DC. And I do understand about the migraine headache. I had them for 25 years, bad. Then peace and rare for a few years, then they were back. Ugh! But after about 10 years they began to become less. I now get a painless migraine rarely. They are crazy, maybe dizzy, sound and smells are aggravating, but they don't hurt! Isn't that weird? I'm just very glad they are essentially gone. Yea! I cannot wait to see all things planted.

Who is going pick. 150lb of blackberries,do you know how tedious that picking will be.high season pick more. Than 20lb per day then either freeze them or make cook jam, you can it in pint jars, instead of the fancy jelly jars. Just remember Mary Carl is going to be around maybe 3more years she will get involved in sports ,dating,it is going Jason picking 10ft row of blackberries , how are you keep the chicken s out.. good luck the blackberries..

Love the pre-podcast smooch. 🌻 I get my roses from Jackson &Perkins. 💜 I love the Hybrid Teas and Simplicity roses from J&P. They bloom throughout spring-fall without pruning. Repeat bloomers usually say repeat flowering. Most old roses are repeat bloomers. A Zepherine Drouhin climbing rose would be great for that blank wall space! Yes! I have about 3,000 non-patented perennials I have started from cuttings. It's easy and they sell very well! Oh...Asian pears cold out of the refrigerator!!!

You two are awesome! Consider trying a calendar like outlook instead of a bunch of notebooks. Works better for reminders as well. Not to mention that notebooks can be lost or destroyed occasionally. I just wanted to tell you all how happy I am you are getting a tornado safe room. I have seen the worst a tornado can do. I was 16 on April 3, 1974 when an f-5 hit our town. To this day I am scared of storms. What terrified me most along with losing school friends, was seeing my town, the place I grew up , in complete destruction in minutes. I am sure living in the south you are all too aware of the danger. So I am so glad for you all! I am so sorry that AC DC has passed away.

Jason instead of keeping up with notebooks that eventually end up falling apart, etc... why don't you convert all your notes to an digital format? You can do it in any one of a variety of ways... You could use MS Office and create documents, spreadsheets and graphs then you can scan in the handouts. Also you could make it some type of online journal. There are lots of ways to do it that would make it much neater and will never deteriorate. I'd be glad to help you get it set up and transfer it all over if you like.
