Me going back and counting how often I said it - "STOP SAYING THAT FREAKING WORD! YOU HAVE A GOOD VOCABULARY, USE IT!" 🤣 (it was 17 times by the way! that is more ok's than there are minutes in the video. Plus 14 of those were said in the first 8 minutes 🤣)

Guilty as a song, but most of all the message of Guilty is much much bigger than a lot of people realize or even have a capacity to realize. It’s not just a song, it’s a statement, it’s a manifesto, it’s Taemin reliving his traumas, getting in terms with everything he’s been through and reclaiming his own life, identity, sexuality. Overall he shows us (fans, the industry) he’s finally in control and is no one’s puppet. Although it may seem like it on the surface level, the lyrics are not about some toxicity between lovers and shouldn’t be interpreted literally but figuratively. I consider Guilty to be a masterpiece, a super personal work of the highest caliber. Taemin is truly an unmatched artist.

In this song Taemin describe a toxic relationship with an abuser, he sings the part of the abuser but dances the part of the abused.

You're definitely right feeling unsettled/uncomfortable watching this! Honestly, Guilty can have many meanings and art is up for interpretation anyway, but many people take this for a 'sexy song' which... no... Though there's theme around seduction, breaking taboo and the album concept incorporates eroticism, those are more like tools in my opinion, and the feeling given is much more sad and unsettling. Taemin's not gone into great detail about what Guilty is about, but he has said we will feel sorry for the protagonist among other things.

A masterpiece. Taemin has over 100 songs in his catalog, and each one is outstanding. Can you imagine that?❤❤❤

"Guilty" is Taemin's title track on his 4th mini Korean solo album and I think the story in the MV is a continuation of the themes surrounding his previous releases. Particularly connected to his Never Gonna Dance Again trilogy of albums -- "2 Kids", "Criminal" and "Idea" -- and Advice album themes. As Taemin has explained, "Guilty" is about a lover who DOESN'T feel guilty about all the bad things they have done in the relationship and they feel no shame or remorse for the pain and suffering they may have caused the other person. Which, if you connect it to the messages from his previous MVs, this easily could be interpreted as a metaphor for everything Taemin has gone through in his career and life. As an idol, he has been manipulated and controlled his whole life. Debuting at 14 years old, Taemin has lived his entire life in the public eye under a microscope, he is expected to be flawless and perfect, and people are constantly telling him what to do and how he should act, etc. However, now that he has turned 30, I think he is embracing a new chapter in his life where he is saying he is no longer going to allow people to manipulate him and he is officially taking back control. In other words, he's not going to feel guilty any more for being himself and doing what makes him happy. The story in the MV also makes more sense if you pair it with the 2 teaser videos that were released a few days before the MV dropped. In the teasers you will see Taemin being manipulated even more by outside forces and people who literally at one point hand him a gun and force him to shoot something or someone, which is all part of the metaphor that has to do with taking control of his life, etc. If you delve in deep you will see that "Guilty" could be interpreted as his relationship with fame and the different sides of who he is as a person and artist. Everything you see and hear can be thought of as a metaphor for life told using biblical references as an underlying theme showcasing Taemin's Catholic faith. The majority of Taemin's songs and MVs touch on concepts, stories and themes from the Bible, as a metaphor to explain what he has gone through growing up as an idol and the journey he has taken in order to find confidence in and acceptance with who he is as a person and an artist.

This song haunts me. And one of the things I love is the varied perspectives of the meaning behind the lyrics and images. It’s a powerful song that sparks strong emotional reactions. I strongly suggest that you watch the trailer for this mv. Then go back and rewatch Guilty with the added context and nuance. Incredible!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZW8oXigltx-aZosi=R_1Srxtd5-ytsibY

He is simply marvelous! In an intervue he said that Guilty was "on his desk" before enlistement, and he was debating whether do this one or Advice before enlistement. But as he wanted to adjust it more to his style and liking, he let it be untill he returned. And boy am I glad he did , because he made a masterpiece out of it!

All people sooner or later face problems that leave a mark on our psychology. Taemin was told that he looked feminine, he did not like it, he wanted to look masculine. As he got older, he decided to take advantage of this "disadvantage". Being a celebrity is hard. But I don't think it's necessary to try on every role he plays on him. He said that he personally does not have the experience of the relationship described in "guilty". Writers and artists create art, but that doesn't mean it's about them, it means it's just THEIR vision of art. A vision that distinguishes them from each other and leaves an imprint on us.

Technically 'Guilty' is continuance of 'Criminal'. You should watch the teaser and trailer too before the mv. He want to release Guilty after Criminal but after he got the enlistment date he released 'Advice' instead of Guilty. Criminal is about Stockholm syndrome if you ever noticed in 'Press you number'(2016) he actually kidnapping himself...idk how long he bottle up this...idk the feeling trap in his idol life with the toxic industry. Like love hate relationship. He is so good with his crafted...like his lyrics in 'Idea' everything in me is doable.. Criminal and Guilty not as sensual as it look esp when you knew what he been through in his idol life
