They look like they are just sitting back making all those sounds, yet it follows a lot of practice. My Sis and I,having 5 younger brothers and knowing how they like to make noise, were laughing that back when, these were the boys in the back of the schoolroom driving teacher crazy. Seriously though, people will always find a way to make noise & put a beat to it to help the laboring day go by. This kind of music comes out of the Appalachian tradition and sounds to me to be totally American. I am a Home Free fan and if you search under their name on YT there is a number of great songs to choose from.

This song was first recorded in 1913 in Bristol Virginia. I am 73 years old and have always favored bluegrass and country music. I heard and loved this song when I was growing up. I believe the Home Free version is the best of the best. I truly enjoyed your reaction. Thank you.

MOCS was written in '13, but not recorded until '28. "The Bristol Sessions" ('27) you mentioned were the very first recordings of country, bluegrass, and traditional Appalachian styles of music. Bristol, TN is home to the "Birthplace of Country Music Museum." (The town of Bristol straddles the VA/TN state line.)

Take a look at their channel for the over 110 music videos they've made. There's not a bad one in the bunch. As others will surely tell you, they range from country, to pop, to gospel, to humor, and often mix these categories together in their work. Myself, I like to recommend Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Hillbilly Bone, Butts Remix, 9 to 5, Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget, Everybody Walkin' This Land, and In the Blood. You know, once I get started it's hard to stop recommending, as pretty much anything they do is amazing!

@@patriciawoyczik1657 Agreed Patricia. But the 200+ videos include both the music videos and the Home Free at home videos, where they show portions of their lives to us all. Interesting and very appealing that they're willing to share themselves with us that way, but I'm not sure how a reactor could react to some of them visiting a farm or going fishing or such.

@@douglasloss They had to abandon a European tour in order to get out before COVID lockdowns went into effect and have promised to go back and finish the cancelled dates as soon as post-COVID travel resumes. The also owe performances to a number of Canadian audiences, so it could be a while before we see much of them here at home.
