Exactly a year ago, on my dad's birthday, we uploaded one of the most viewed videos on this channel - it was the first time we'd really talked about autism, and certainly the first time we'd shown a meltdown on the channel. I never could have thought that the difference would be as big as it is right now, eventually yes, but for sure not this quick. You guys deserve the credits for that, and ofcourse Andy does. I have just found this channel even though I have followed you on YT for 2 years since the boston save. my daughter has autism and she is 5 so I am just starting the autism journey and learning to adapt to it and trying to find a way that works and how to deal with her meltdowns and other issues and its very hard indeed I have also given up work to be at home more to help out and trying to find help with dealing with her autism is next to impossible as their are very few courses and the ones that are their she is to young for so we are doing it very much alone her school have been very good and understanding and she is in full time mainstream school not sure for how long though as she is in year R and if she does have to go to a autism school its looking at a 40-60min drive each way so I think this channel will help to see how someone else deals with the day to day life of being a parent of a child who finds things more difficult than other children. we have 2 other children aswell so finding a way to incorporate them and not to make them feel left out is a hard thing to do, she loves numbers and trains so thank you in advance of watching more of these videos and keep up the good work.

Our situations sound really similar, even down to our children’s interests and the number of kids we have, so feel free to fire any questions at me you might have. That drive sounds crazy each day, there really needs to be more provision for children with autism - whereabouts do you live?

we live in Deal, Kent near Dover. even getting her diagnosed is taking ages we started the process in September and she wont get her full diagnosis until some point in 2019 even though all the doctors, OT, School, speech and language have all reported her to have autism and the school have given her a 1to1 helper so theirs a lot we cant seem to access that will help us help her like autism play groups and she suffers with social anxiety so getting her to interact with other children is impossible everyday is a challenge like getting her ready for school in the morning on a good day we can get done in 15mins and on a not so good day can take over an hour. she also has sensory issues with sound as she cant handle loud noises and when we are walking outside she walks with her coat hood up constantly from the moment we leave the house to the moment we get home. she loves YT she watches a lot of videos to do with counting and she has learnt to count to 100 and simple addition so in that respect she is very good as for her age group all they need to do is count to 20 though with YT their are a lot of videos on their that are not good for her as she tends to get fixated on things their was a certain channel on YT that we have tried to stop her watching as she was just copying it and it was potentially dangerous as it involved putting a vast amount of food in her mouth in one go which made meal times very difficult.

It was interesting to see Andy stimming. I haven't seen it before. It's neither positive nor negative. It's just an observation. I had a boy in my special needs secondary school who stimmed. The difference between the two videos over a year is simply phenomenal...unbelievable...a huge congratulations to him.... One question though - what's Andy's vocabulary like - Does he only know a few words or is he naturally shy?
