What's crucial about this idea is putting distance between the player and the gun. The bots always shoot the player, so if you can place the seat such that it's immune, well, that's a gg right there...

the glaring weak point I was yelling about from the start is you should've put either the steel, or at least the t3 wood over the exterior bubbles, lol on the sides it'd delay the sinking, because they wouldn't instantly blow up half the floor in one barrage, lol, on the bottom doesn't matter much, but some steel there would slightly help the tipping I guess

Gatling gun and mini gun are the same concept of gun, just a different method of firing ( 1 is manual, the latter is automatic, using electric motors) . Mini gun is the most modern.....mini gun it is Or yeah, as above.....spudling gun 😆

I can explain why buoyancy is uneven, you mostly understand it, but it's a little more game-internals related, a rectangular prism of bubble block is one "shape", (every part is a shape, blocks combine together into large shapes), it's for performance, but the water manager applies upward force to each shape individually, so yes, dividing them up will cause buoyancy to be spread out, since it's dividing shapes up.

Honestly what got my attention is the way you stabilized the boat. I have a massive barge (80 by 32) in survival mode and I had it dry-docked due to the weird game buoyancy. Now I think I can fix it! Thanks! My suggestion is if you try to build a big boat and have a deployable vehicle for island exploration.

How to make turning sideways slower/more sensitive: Put the sideways movement on two consecutive bearings instead of just one. Make the two bearings turn in opposing directions. Have one of them be slightly slower than the other, it will cancel out most of the movement of the slightly faster one.

The reason it tilted and fell midway through is it calculates buoyancy for all connected sections of the same buoyant material (and if it floats it doesn’t sink as whole thing, not calculating object tilt), and so by dividing it in two with the metal you made two float calculations, but the had no counter correction (as you discovered) on the two short sides, whereas if you divide it into four platforms it will never do that, as you have four float calculations that correct and lean, as long as they have sufficient buoyancy.

1. You could have just saved the part of the ship with the guns on it then spawn it in again and weld it the other way 2. You should have made 4 turrets with 3 spud guns each that can rotate 180 side to side and can elevate from -30 to +60 degrees and give them thick armor 3. Left a small hole be able to use handheld spud shooting weaponry. 4. For extra armor, you could have applied 3rd tier wood (what I like to call 'plywood') to the outside. 5. Put the fire button inside the ship. 6. Use wedges and tier 3 wood around the guns as extra armor. I am hopping into Scrap Mechanic rn to try and build a ship that CAN fight against them.

0:37 so in other words it was a great idea that you sabataged by intentionally using sub par materials. I think the best idea is to simply live on a good island so you don't need to deal with the bots.

You should fight fire with fire. Try to add rockets (you can make very simple rockets with a thruster and an explosive) or a catapult that fires explosives. You could also try making a small plane with the wings mod that has automatic spudguns on it. Just make the plane very slow so it doesn't be too over powered. If you decide to take one of my ideas then please put them on the roof of the fortress. There it won't have any armor. Also the plane could be fired from like a "slingshot" so it can get a good fast start while not being fast while flying.

Super fun idea! I'm half way through, can't wait to see how it turns out. I just have to mention that you can improve your steering bearing sensitivity by reducing the angle they're set to. You've got them all set to 120° both ways but you're only actually able rotate them at most 30° each way. Reducing that angle will make them a ton easier to aim.

I would suggest tier 3 wood for your “base”. It’s weight really only affects it outside of water because of its buoyancy so you wouldn’t get that weird half floating half flying base. Boats aren’t made of bubble blocks for a reason!

Put bots in armored boxes and ship them to their costumer from using cranes to pick the boxes to put them on boats then put the box on land to a vehicle that can carry the bots box then put them on a mono rail and that's it! 9:00 If you put the Bearing on a lower angle, then it will move slower. This is because the speed you set the bearing to, is a constant time which stays the same when you lower the angle of the bearing. So the speed of the bearing will reduce.

You needed to protect the turret mechanisms. Build a ‘bubble’ of metal around the bearing & pipes. And multiple layers of armor. (You can put bubble blocks between the layers to help with buoyancy.)

The buoyancy issue was explained by kAN in his Noob v Pro boat-racing video a little while ago. Separating the slabs of bubble-blocks forces the game to calculate them with different points of buoyancy. When the blocks are touching, the game merges them to calculate it from one point. This calculation works the same way as how transparent blocks are see-through when connected to each other; If two sections of transparent blocks are separated, you will see the second layer through the first, but if they're touching, the second-layer will be invisible.

@Scrapman In a relatively recent video of Can's, i believe it was pro vs noob boat edition or smth, he noted that in his experiments he determined that if you use one big chunk of floatable material it is treated as a point mass with buoyancy, i believe that's why it does not stay level but just stops - a point is level in each direction. In addition he mentioned that a better suited design is if you spread the flotables into a few (4 in his case) pads, that calculate their own position and floatability, while the main mass is between then. This way you have 4 floating pads/points with a common center. t witch they apply their mass as an angular momentum and you will see "normal" behavior. Edit: Sorry, i posted this just before he discovered it himself... just wanted to help :/

At 11:51 your boat was tipping sideways. You should split your bubble blocks into 4 sections instead of just 2 for even better stability.
