Oh sorry I was running down a list of recent comments and missed that this was not about the new melty brain. Yes I'm expecting this to have trouble with the energy expended when it hits, it will either break itself or go flying, but either way it will be fun to watch Also it can definitely drive, I had it spinning and driving in the test box footage
@jb-br8bf Жыл бұрын
When it span up to full speed it sounded like a rotary engined aircraft!
@fasthippy Жыл бұрын
When it comes to energy impact. E= Mass * velocity^2, It might be interesting to create the a weapon that goes as fast as possible. Perhaps a disc with a tooth that is held back by a spring and only overcomes the spring as some stupid speed. Kind to opposite exercise of what happened here- maximize speed over weight.
@TeamPanicRobotics Жыл бұрын
That would be interesting for sure The problem with super high RPM is that bite decreases with an increase in RPM, so you have all of this energy stored but struggle to effectively deliver it into your opponent

@TeamPanicRobotics Жыл бұрын
Haha thanks! It is a shame, but thats what I get for using a dirt cheap micro, the interrupts worked fine on their own, but as soon as I run the pair they freak out and one just stops working all together, very annoying. If I do a v2 it will have a chip change

I dont think so, but I'm really not sure The spec was all in Chinese and I translated it, but things dont always come out clearly when you do that I tried both the main 2 interrupt pins and then the specified software interrupts and could never get more then 1 working reliably at a time

@TeamPanicRobotics Жыл бұрын
That is a bit on the nose, but its also accurate I think it will stay LowJinx or LoJinx though, as it was a name given to me on the CAD stream and I really like it, especially as HiJinx is an undercutter, it makes sense for an overhead spinner to be LowJinx
@hogfanboy9443 Жыл бұрын
great video, I like the way you come up with out of the box designs. What motor driver and microcontroller were you planning on the PCB? Looks like the way you were going to connect the N20 motors to the PCB was similar to what I did ( created a small PCB that is a back plate on the N20 and it connects the motor connectors and right angle female headers to connect to male headers on the PCB) very clean, was that similar to what you had planned? I used ESP8266's to act as wireless and microcontroller on both the bot and controller, because I was focused on making an inexpensive complete bot and controller. Using the ESP8266 and ESPNOW, sending data was easy and didn't have the interrupt issue. This year I got cheaper by doing a 1S design that can easily do flea weight and has a TP4056 charger module soldered to the PCB to charge the bot. Thus I only needed to supply students with a USB cable for charging. Even though I have spots on the PCB to plug in a servo or brushed esc, I have not gotten there because we have no arena that can safely battle in. Does anybody have ideas about a cheap and safe arena where we can get a little more destructive?
@bami2 Жыл бұрын
That is quite the silly build, pretty amazing you managed to have it within weight by half a gram. Could you mount the weapon to the motor axle before mounting the motor in the chassis? Does the competition you want to take this to have rules on spin-down times?
@TeamPanicRobotics Жыл бұрын
Honestly even with all the weight saving I was expecting to be at least a gram over on first build, I was blown away to be under For the video I could have, but it would probobly have been harder for comps, as I was planning to loctite the weapon motor down, so removing it and putting it back oftern wasnt a great idea and I wanted to avoid it. If it couldnt get the weapon on while the motor was in, I would have done it that way I think so? They use a fairly standard ruleset with a couple of minor mods to define the plastic B class. But I'd need to read it again to find out for sure, either way I should be able to meet it
