Got invaded once by a dude using the Moonveil. I’m not great at PvP, so I died fairly quickly. But after he killed me, instead of taunting or t-bagging, he just used the Soap item and then walked away.

Btw the Magic Scorpion Charm receives a nerf in PvP and will only boost your magic damage by 7.5% against other players (instead of 15% against PvE). Instead you could use the Ritual Sword talisman for 10% extra damage while at full HP

I made a build you need to use if you are into random stuff. You use the Flowing Curved Sword with sword dance in your main hand and Zamor Curved Sword in your off hand, which still has those strange R1s as l1s and gives you Zamor Ice Storm in situations that you need it. I call this build the North Pole Dancer (no spaces)(I did not come up with this name).

If I could make a build suggestion I haven't seen literally anybody but me do yet, main hand Scythe (Grim or standard) with offhand Nagakiba where the scythe has Phantom Slash. It's a vortex monster, and reapers with the Phantom Slash ash of war have a true combo into the R1. Offhand Nagakiba afterward won't usually hit, if they roll out after the R1, but it'll still add a little phantom blood loss buildup and following it up with another Phantom Slash gets them right back into the vortex, unless they spam backward roll. I've been having tons of fun with it. You can put whatever you like on the Nagakiba, but I've been using Spinning Slash for the turn and burn when people are too aggressive. Edit: This Phantom Slash combo doesn't require trading, btw. I typically just do it after a crouch/roll R1, L1 or run-up R2. It roll catches and usually deletes whatever life they have left.

remember that L2R1 -> R1/offstoc/offdagger/offaxe/sword/curved sword is an(almost always) true combo and that the L2 R1 can be a rollcatch if timed properly(this actually goes for nagakiba unsheathe too) and yes, gnocchi are usually made of potatoes. and gnocchi alla sorrentina are good af.

Whoever gave the moonveil the green light for this game should be removed from their position. Elden ring pvp is a fucking mess when everyone just abuses weapon arts no matter how much FromSoft tries to balance. And their player base is too large to revamp the game like they did with DS2. I honestly can’t wait to play the dlc and then watch this title get replaced by whatever they make next.

​@@Wil14well considering that moonveil is rarely seen in one on one duels and you'll usually see people using lances, halberds and polearms in general as well with bleed and cold so then can just insta kill you... Yeah moonveil ain't it chief, also if you have half a brain you can dodge moonveil pretty easily, lost in the video uses the weapon art wrong as well, the weapon is literally just unsheathe with a beam attack... If he used it like unsheathe he would get better poise damage and more than 2k damage, I have used strength in PvP and pve and it blows most Dex weapons out of the water, one shots on bosses is easily done and it borderline makes the game a breeze versus dex were I have to actually learn the moveset of said enemies.

@@alalmalal speed wise you see in the video that most people can dodge it and damage heck no, PvP there is way more broken stuff that can straight one shot you e.g. cross naginata, catch flame theoradrix magma glitch and duel lance spam, you even see a dude tank two transient moonlights and kill lost in the video with the prelate hammer which is slow as sin so again moonveil is only hated by people who are genuinely bad at the game and monkey mash dodge and weapon art spam like most rivers of blood players, no one plays elden ring for "balanced matchmaking"... DS3 exists if you want to PvP as the damage scaling is way less and putting point into strength or Dex matters more than it does in elden ring were the main stat is vigor, again the guy who killed lost with the prelate hammer had more than 2200 hp with bull goat armour which allows him to live and beat lost quite easily, also judging from losts play style where he just chugs his flask as soon as he starts losing is very telling of what he is like, he could've damaged them to the point were the chug a flask first but the grandiose idea of "moonveil op" whilst playing like a rat really just shows, if you said moonveil was op during the first patch of the game where its damage wasn't split, all Katana had way more stagger and it had more range then yeah id agree with you but after the first patch it got nerfed, strength meanwhile has seen nothing but straight up buffs that make it so broken that you destroy the balance of both pve and pvp

How's matchmaking at RL200 on PC? I'm in NG+7 currently and sticking to RL150 started to feel real annoying especially on anything that's not arcane build.

You should just make another character, no reason to NG+ this game as of now. Connectivity is there but not great between lvl 150-200. Drops off a lot after that. It will probably be no issue to be any level whenever DLC drops, for a while after that. If you are into PvP, you need multiple characters for different level ranges. New playthroughs are 10x more fulfilling than NG+ anyway.

I see no reason to make another character. Why would I spend time exploring again? I did everything already and making a new character is just annoying (getting all the maps, tears and all that). I feel like the Moonveil is the real Moonlight Greatsword of ER despite the Darkmoon Greatsword existing. Moonveil gets a cool 2-move variable weapon art, while the Darkmoon WA isn't even an attack and you have to spam R2 if you want beams.

I use moonvail in my offhand, moonlight great sword in my main. And a mix of sword related spells and lurettas great bow. Coupled with the carian knight gauntlets and chest peace lorettas leggings and the kaiden rider helmet or black knife hood.

@@haydensevere4052 rl9 no upgrades, 25-30 +1/+3 are SUPER populated on PC. 52 with +3/+7 was good last time I did that but it was before Christmas when I played @ that rune level. 125-150 the coliseum is busy but under 100 it’s quiet. And invasions queue longer at that level for me. Everything between the 70s to the 110s was quiet for me last couple of meta toons I made. So for me on PC, low levels for invasion and meta for coliseum is where I get the least down time. Before Christmas I found plenty of people to combat ordeal with starting class, and like I said 50s were active for invasions, but now it’s a ghost town for low level coliseum.

okay, im on xbox but im sure its a similiar trend thanks man this is helpful cuz i was using the rune level and weapon upgrade calculator and still getting nothing... i prefer invasions like the old souls games so im gonna make a brand new character. i already know the build... frieren cosplay where im a wretch and only upgrade int. ill do stargazer heirloom and marika soreseal for 10 more int then int crytsal tear for 10 more then twinsage helm for 6 int and godrick greatrune for 5 int so a total of 31 int gained meaning to get 60 int i need to level my int to 29 which makes me rl20 but still able to use comet azur. that said for the cosplay to work i cant use the helm and if i want to be summoned or invade and use the comet azur spell i cant use greatrune meaning i would need to level int to 40 in which case i will be rl31 so i could use the meteor staff or a +1 to +3 lusat glinstone staff if i want to max dmg. does this sound like ill still be able to get summoned or invade? i think it would be dope to surprise people at low level with a comet azur ya know? so if i went full optimized invasion build i could be rl25 with meteor staff. or i could do cosplay just for fun. what do u think? does this sound good? ive already beat the game without leveling so i could get all the gear or i could just have a buddy drop it for me if i dont feel like spending all that time. anyways would love to hear ur thoughts bro ty again!@@dylanismeyouknow

@@haydensevere4052 when I listed those weapon levels I was saying “somber/standard.” So it would be +1somber/+3standard weapon for an RL25-RL30 character. Comet Azur would be helpful in boss arenas but I don’t think it has much use outside of PVE. It’s slow to charge up and easy to dodge in a PVP scenario. But you can find success as a glass cannon sorcerer in PVP with that much int. You’ll be squishy but do a ton of damage. I always start vagabond for my PVP builds (lowest mind, faith, int, arcane, highest vigor, endurance, strength, and respectable dex level). You have less wasted stats and meet requirements for a plethora of weapons (you can even go in whatever direction you want with other damage stats and have a great building block to start with when you respec). I prefer that to wretch. I have a wretch RL1 save but vagabond is my preferred PVP class. At lower levels I literally only pump vigor. You can meet all other stat requirements with talismans and helms and the way nerfing works against OLP you’ll be able to tank a lot of damage. High vigor at low Rune Level will make you a wrecking machine and at low levels soreseal and scarseals have less of a downside bc it’s percentage based damage resistance reduction. The extra vigor as well as the ability to wear heavier armor provided by Radagon’s seal outweighs any extra damage taken.

The scorpion charms should never be used for PvP. You actually get less AR than what is advertised for them against other players. iirc it’s a 15% buff to PvE enemies, 5% buff to PvP enemies. So you’re barely getting any additional AR but losing a tonne of defence

Definitely doesn't need to be removed, but it's speed/range/damage/fp cost ratio is unbalanced. Most likely, it will not be nerfed because it would upset the large percentage of players who use it to beat the game. Personally, I am fine with the way it is and it gives the players the magic weeb stick they dreamed of.

i'd say rob is easy af to counter(lmao just parry) and moonveil is actually less strong than a kiba with unsheathe at short/medium range, moonveil's strength comes at range as it can punish estus sipping/bolus usage. dragon incantas are good only in invasions(greyoll roar aside) and PSS... yeah fuck PSS.
